Travis couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong. Taylor's behavior with Shawn during lunch had seemed off, and now Donna had voiced the same concerns. It gnawed at him, and he felt a growing urgency to check on her.
Meanwhile, Taylor was driving home, unaware that Shawn was following her. As soon as she entered her house and turned to lock the door, Shawn pushed it open forcefully and stepped inside, shutting the door behind him with a smirk.
"I'm not your puppet, Taylor," he sneered. "I help you whenever you want, and you think I don't expect anything in return? I've helped you, and now it's your turn to help me. You don't have to do much—just cooperate, and it will benefit both of us."
Taylor backed away until she hit the wall, fear etched on her face. "Please, Shawn, just leave," she pleaded, her voice trembling.
Shawn ignored her, stepping closer. "You want to put on an act outside that I'm your fiancé? Then you'll put on an act inside your room that you're my fiancé too."
On the other side of town, Travis was pacing his room, his mind racing. He couldn't shake the sense of foreboding. He picked up his phone and called Taylor. After a few rings, she answered, but she didn't say anything.
"Hello? Taylor?" Travis said, but he was met with silence. Then, to his horror, he heard Taylor pleading with Shawn in the background. Shawn's sinister voice cut through the silence.
"You want to put on an act outside that I'm your fiancé? Then you'll put on an act inside your room that you're my fiancé too."
Travis's heart sank. He heard Taylor's voice, desperate and pleading, and something inside him snapped. He grabbed his keys and rushed out the door, vowing to himself that he wouldn't let anything happen to Taylor.
Shawn had Taylor cornered. He reached out to remove her gown, his intentions clear as he stepped closer, ready to kiss her. Taylor turned her face away, tears streaming down her cheeks. She felt utterly helpless, trapped by Shawn's advances.
At that moment, Travis broke through the front door with a forceful kick, the door crashing open. "Shawn, don't you dare move another inch!" he shouted, his voice filled with rage.
Shawn spun around, his face contorted with anger. "What the hell are you doing here?" he snarled.
Travis ignored him and rushed to Taylor, who collapsed into his arms, sobbing. "Are you okay?" he asked, his voice gentle now.
Taylor nodded, unable to speak, clutching Travis tightly.
Shawn took a step forward, but Travis turned on him with a fury in his eyes. "If you come any closer, I swear I'll make you regret it," he warned.
Shawn laughed bitterly. "You think you can stop me? You have no idea what you're dealing with."
Travis didn't flinch. "Try me."
Shawn took another step forward, but before he could do anything, Travis lunged at him, tackling him to the ground. The two men grappled, but Travis's anger gave him strength. He pinned Shawn down, his fist raised.
"Get out of here and never come near Taylor again," Travis growled.
Shawn struggled but couldn't break free. "This isn't over," he spat, but the fear in his eyes was unmistakable.
Travis pushed him away and stood up, pulling Taylor to her feet. "You're done here," he said, his voice cold and final.
Shawn scrambled to his feet and fled, casting one last venomous look over his shoulder before disappearing into the night.
Travis turned to Taylor, his expression softening. "You're safe now," he whispered.
Taylor nodded, still trembling. "Thank you, Travis. I... I don't know what would have happened if you hadn't come."
