Chapter 4 - The distance between us

With that lividness on her face May entered her class where she saw Steven laughing and enjoying with his friends not even bothering about May's existence. "It's not his fault he deserves to be loved, how can someone so adorable can't be dating? I was such a fool" May mumbled to herself. After few minutes Ulyssa came she saw May the girl who was always smiling while a pale face. "What happened?" asked Ulyssa. "Nothing just i heard overheard a conversation" said May. "About what? " asked Ulyssa. May said "STEVEN" which a lowered voice "He's already dating"...."WAIT WHAT????? WHO SAID" asked Ulyssa. "I don't know some girls were talking that their's a guy who's been dating a girl outside of school" replied May. "But what if those were just rumours" said Ulyssa. "It's both a what if case it can be and it can't be though" said May. "That's exactly what i'm saying so just don't get on a single point first of all find out the truth" said Ulyssa. "But how am i supposed to do that?" asked May. "Even i don't know but we can try toghther, this isn't the time to sit and think about rumours we should find the truth" said Ulyssa. "Okay then i'll try but till that i'll keep a distance with him because if he'll be dating i'll be considered as a shameful in my own opinion" said May. "Don't worry much do what makes you comfortable" said Ulyssa. Time passed the first three classes went out well after that during break on May's way to to corridor near the door she striked with someone she looked up to see that who was there it was none other than Steven. May got nervous and anxious so she ignored him and stepped outside the door. After that the other two classes went well and they both headed towards their home. At home when she was upset about Steven's dating and had no ond to talk too she texted her brother and told her everything about a guy named Steven and how she came to knew about his dating his brother than analysed the situation and said that "He has a friend of that same school so we can take his help". "But what if he ended up spreading weird rumours about me?" said May "He'll not he'll a trustworthy guy wait here's his account go and contact him". May agreed and the next day after school she contacted that guy her brother mentioned who told him about his X but he had no idea about his current. But he assured May that he'll tell her within this week. May was relieved, "I can rely on him without any hesitation". May thought. She then told everything to Ulyssa who comforted her,not to think more about that. May also agreed!....

                      (After 7-8 days)
These days passed like a small boat floating in a vast ocean for May ignoring him became hard for for her the more she ignored the more he flashes in her mind. "Obsessed? Am i obsessed with him? Or Am i obsessed with his presence?" I don't know what to do... except counting on my days till the truth arrives... talked May to herself.

                      (In the evening)

*NOTIFICATION*

"Who is it now?" thought May

"He's currently not dating anyone that was all a misunderstanding" said that guy
"So it was all a misunderstanding, ohh godd!!! How can i be so dumb????" May mumbled to herself.
She then immediately called Ulyssa and told her everything..
"See i told you already, it's not always what you hear" said Ulyssa
"Yess!!!! You are right but i don't know why am i so happy about him not dating another girl..."  said May
"Voohhhhh gurlll YOU ARE TOTALLY INTO HIM!!!!" said Ulyssa
"Nahh, not that much though" said May
"Ohh really?? then you shouldn't mind him dating another girl" said Ulyssa
"Whatsoever.....i think someone's calling i'll talk to you later" said May

             (Hunging up the call)

"She's obsessed with him not knowing" said Ulyssa to herself

On the next day-

May reached school a bit early so she started to walk around the corridor after some time Ulyssa came she was talking to two girls both of them were wearing glasses one had a small height with a bright smile..named Nia and the other one was quite like tree in a forest...her name was Alice. They came towards me talking with one another then Ulyssa started to introduce me to them i shook hands with them. We talked a little then Nia and Alice moved on. After that i asked Ulyssa that why did she introduced me to them. "They're the old students here they'll probably know much about Steven" said Ulyssa.
"I do agree but is this right?? Are they trustworthy?" asked May
"Yes they aree!!! we both can do nothing alone so it's better to get a helping hand" said Ulyssa.
"Okay? As u say" said May in a doubtful manner.

Some days passed things weren't going on with Steven. But still May was having fun with her new friends. The four of them sit together they talk in between lectures and also talkes shit about the teacher sometimes. Their bond became stronger within few days.

One day while going back home,May told Nia everything about Steven how he's on her mind and how she can't stop thinking about him. And also that she has a crush on him.
"Steven??? Really???? That guy" said Nia shockingly
"Yes? What's wrong with him?" asked May doubtfully
"LITERALLY EVERYTHING" said Nia with a slight temper and fear.

"What? What is it?? Tell me???" said May
"He is--........" Nia was about to say but her driver called her so she left May hastily.
