"Let's see the face of Aphros' boy.'" said a voice. "Oh my gosh, you look good! Tell us, how did you end up being his boy? We need all the juicy details."
On the laptop screen, Paint was grimacing at his two close friends who had suddenly called and demanded that he turn on his computer and camera. They had even threatened to come to his house if he didn't comply. Right at that moment, on the screen, there was Plerng with a face mask on, and Andrea, the half-Russian girl, who had her face almost pressed against the screen.
"Plerng, what kind of fire did you start?"
Whenever Andrea got interested in something, it gave Paint the chills. Back when Plerng had a boyfriend, it was Andrea who pushed things along until Plerng ended up with Phi Sin, meddling behind the scenes. She even told Paint once that trusting her would get him a good boyfriend. And then, Paint was extremely wary, wondering if they had been up to something behind his back. Even opening with the topic of Aphros' boy meant that Andrea was thinking far ahead.
"I might be named Plerng, but right now my fire is only for Phi Sin. I don't light up for others." Plerng said.
"You talk like I want to light up for you. I want your sister." Andrea retorted.
Paint shook his head, exasperated with his two friends who always spoke so openly. When Plerng wanted someone, he said it straight out. And then, Andrea was infatuated with Plerng's cool sister and didn't hold back either. Sometimes, Paint felt like he was the most modest one in the group.
"I already told you, if you want to flirt with her, go ahead." Plerng replied.
"And what did nong Phen say?" Andrea asked.
Plerng Philed off the face mask, patted his cheeks with both hands, and then flashed a sly grin.
"My sister said, 'If Andrea thinks she can handle someone like me, then she should go ahead and try.'"
"Plerng, I want her so bad. Your sister, please let me have her." Andrea said, rolling around on the bed, shedding her sophisticated image. That was typical for Andrea, who never worried about keeping up appearances. The first time they met, everyone was impressed by the beautiful girl with gray eyes. But as they got to know her, her true colors showed. She always said worrying about her looks made life less fun.
"Okay, I've rolled around enough. Let's get back to Paint's story." Andrea said, her hair in a messy tangle as she lifted her head back to the screen, making Paint shake his head.
"There's really nothing to tell." Paint said.
"Yeah, sure, nothing happened. Andrea, let me tell you what happened instead. So, Phi Phai told me that someone at the restaurant insulted our friend. You know what my uncle did? He called the owner of the restaurant, not to scold them, but to discipline their staff. He brought the owner over to fire that person and even said: 'No one messes with my boy.'"
"Goodness, that's like protecting something as precious as an egg!" Andrea shrieked when Plerng finished his story, making Paint feel exhausted. He had learned from experience that the more he protested, the more fun his friends had. So he waited until their outbursts and exaggerated squeals of excitement died down before responding in a calm voice.
"My phi just didn't want anyone to insult me. You're blowing it out of proportion. There's no way he said: 'No one messes with my boy.'"
"Then why don't you deny what he said..." Plerng quickly interrupted, his eyes gleaming with mischief as he grinned broadly.
"...Aphros' boy.'"
"Aphros' boy! Go for it, Paint. Aphros has everything: he's handsome, well-built, probably amazing in bed, judging by his nephews, has a great job, and is well-off. Trust me, if you land this guy, you'll be set for life. Oh, I forgot you're still a virgin. Don't worry, if you need lessons, I can teach you how to seduce him, and Plerng can teach you how to get him into bed. You'll definitely get him!" Andrea chimed in, firing off her comments. If they were together in person, they would probably be high-fiving each other in delight. Now, their laughter filled the room, making Paint cover his face with his hands.
