STEVE
21 JUNE 2015

In the evening, after I confronted Myra's parents about Edward's sketches, I received a call from DC Khan.

"Steve!" she yelled over the phone. "Come outside!"

"You're outside? Why?"

"Can't I come over?" she asked annoyingly.

"No, I mean, is everything okay?"

"Just come out," she ordered.

Her car was parked in the circular driveway. When she saw me, she stepped out of the car in haste. She had changed her clothes, her hair still wet from the shower, and she looked perfectly beautiful in a bright yellow blouse and a brown lace skirt.

"Guess what?" she asked. I was too busy admiring her beauty to answer. She snapped her fingers at me. "Wake up, you dolt!"

I blinked, coming out of my trance. "What?"

"I found Jasmine," she announced.

"What?" I grabbed her arm and cornered her against the car, wondering if anyone could hear us, but no one knew who Jasmine was.

"The hospital across from Hue Castle...St Benedict...she works under the name of Dr J. Hue," she whispered, her face totally flushed in excitement.

"What are you saying?" I still couldn't believe she dug out this information so quickly.

"And she owns the pharmacy inside the hospital," she added. "Let's head to the castle to inform Edward, since he is the one who helped us." I still stared at her in amazement.

This was the news of the century. We had opened Pandora's Box. DC Khan had no idea what she had done. I couldn't control my emotions, so I crashed my lips on hers. Her lips tasted like strawberry and mint, the flavour of her lip gloss I had suddenly started to love. Her body reacted to my touch as her fingers slithered through my hair. Heat leapt deep within me, a fire both tender and fierce ignited by the sweet friction of tongue over tongue.

"I still have your fragrance on my body," I admitted, and her face sparked with a perfect shade of pink.

We were busy kissing for quite some time when I heard someone clearing his throat. I retreated and noticed DC Khan's face flushed in embarrassment. It was my father watching us.

"Mr Bernard," she said quietly, acknowledging his presence.

"DC Khan," said my father, glancing in my direction. "How is work?"

"Good, thank you," she looked away, feeling awkward. "I will wait in the car," she mumbled, and opened the door to take the driver's seat.

Dad approached me, smirking. "You know the Farrows are conservative," he said. "You are still their son-in-law." Sneering at my act, he continued, "So get a room, son!"

I huffed at his words and nodded. "Tell Mom I will be out tonight."

"I know," he answered, chuckling. "Good choice, though!" he patted my shoulder. "Have fun!" What was he thinking? That I was dating DC Khan? He had no clue what we were doing.

I took the passenger seat, and we headed to Hue Castle.

Now that we got here, we were wondering if this message could even help Edward in any way. "Do you think it would help?" DC Khan asked as we both stared at Jasmine's sketch.

"I don't know what benefit he would get from knowing that Jasmine works in the hospital close by," I argued. "This hospital is in our time."

"Then let's go to the hospital and meet her," DC Khan suggested.
