Walking along the dirt path all alone, you hummed at the peaceful silence of nature all around you.
Sometimes you missed the bustling city. The people all around you just passing you by and living their own lives with their own ups and downs. Being in a place like that was surely grounding. It made you feel..human again.
But then again you wondered how long it's been..since you've seen the stars shine this brightly.
You looked up above where the moon and stars shined upon the darkness of the night. Illuminating your skin with a soft glow as you walked lonesome.
Why were you out here?
You're supposed to be sleeping. You had training to do once the sun has completely risen. Why are you out here walking without i care in the world.
Well..you couldn't sleep.
How could you when your mind was louder than a million voices. So much thinking made you unable to find a comfortable rest.
So you got up and started walking and walking...
Letting your legs take you anywhere. So deep into your thoughts you hadn't realized that you've been walking for hours, away from your home.
Home..how funny that you considered that house your home now. Just because of the people that resided there.
You stopped walking as you spotted a familiar Inn.
You looked at it with awe, the wysteria that surrounded the place. The lanterns that emmited warmth and light. Your eyes softened at the nostalgic memories of your days here.
As you admired it's beauty and allure, you couldn't help but notice that you weren't alone on this sleepless night.
Up front the Inn was a young boy. Dark hair, wearing a worn out red yukata. He seemed to be fiddling with a wooden fox-mask.
The darkness of the night, casting shadows over his already blurry face.
Despite the anonymity his blurred face gave him, you felt your feet stepping towards the boy whom stiffened as he finally noticed your presence.
The boy stood up, hand on the hilt of his sword as he looked at you with a wary stance.
He thinks you're a demon.
Your aura was strange. It didn't emit that of a normal person..but what was stranger was you did not emit that of a demon's either.
You were currently as much of an enigma to him as he was to you.
"Don't..step closer.." he uttered, ever so quietly that you almost couldn't hear him.
Despite his threats you persisted as you kept your eyes on the fox-mask in his other hand.
