"Are you sure about this?..I mean you just got back from a mission.."
Atsuo asked you as he sat near a table, having tea as he watched you walk into the room, changed out of your uniform and into a kimono.
You sighed as you turned to him with an exasperated expression.
"Atsuo..,"
"I know, I know, It's for the greater good, blah blah.." Atsuo grumbles as he rests his cheek against his palm.
"But still, what if you can't come back to me?..to us?.." He asks with a worried tone as his mind became a tangled mess of possibilities.
"I'll make sure i do." you reassure him as you sling your sack of items over your shoulder.
"And if it's out of your hands? I mean his convertion to a demon was a pretty major event-"
"Then I'll come up with another plan. I've got all the time i need." You shrugged as you cut him off before he starts to ramble about.
Atsuo looks at you and sighs as he stands up to approach you, dusting off your shoulders as he straightens your kimono.
"You look so out of place in this thing.." he chuckles as he looked at you in an outfit so similar yet so different from your usual choice of clothing, which was a yukata, now wearing a kimono and a white haori, like a female doctor.
"Do i? Should i change?" you contemplated as you readjust the oversized sleeves of your haori.
"No. I think you should try it out for a change" he smiles as he pats your head roughly, making you stumble and grunt in annoyance.
A few moments later, you hear the sound of flapping wings as you glance at the open door to see your crow, Baki, staring at you empty handed. Meaning he has delivered the letters successfully, after much begging and threatening from you as he taps his foot demandingly.
You scoff as you approach the crow and crouch to its level, pouring a bag of crushed nuts in front of it as it starts to eat.
Three letters, you sent to three people.
The first letter, to the Rengoku estate, addressed to Kyojuro Rengoku, the eldest son.
—
Kyojuro pants as he swings his sword for the upteenth time. It was an early morning, so early the sun has not even risen.
Kyojuro blinks as he hears the sound of wings flapping, turning around he see a kasugai crow as it squacked loudly, announcing it's intention with an angry tone.
