Golden rays of the early morning sun filtered through the canopy of leaves, casting a warm glow that gently woke Abhiman from his slumber. As the light touched his face, he blinked his eyes open, feeling the world slowly come into focus. He found himself beneath the broa tree.

As he adjusted to the light, he realised he wasn't alone. Ishana's head rested gently on his shoulder, her face peaceful and serene in sleep. Her dark hair cascaded over his arm, a silken contrast to the rough bark of the tree behind them. The gentle rise and fall of her breath was a comforting rhythm against his side.

Abhiman turned his head slightly, drinking in the sight of her. But just as he began to appreciate the quiet beauty of the moment, he saw Ishana's eyelashes flutter. She was waking up. In a sudden, shy impulse, Abhiman quickly closed his eyes, feigning sleep.

Ishana's eyes slowly opened, the soft light of dawn reflecting in her gaze. She blinked a few times, her mind shaking off the remnants of sleep. As awareness seeped in, she realised her head was resting on Abhiman's shoulder. This brought a gentle flush to her cheeks. She lifted her head slightly, careful not to wake him.

For a moment, she studied his face. There was a calm, almost boyish innocence in his features as he pretended to sleep. His dark lashes rested on his cheeks, and a faint smile tugged at the corner of his lips, as if he were savouring a sweet dream. Her heart swelled with affection and a touch of amusement.

She slowly straightened up, careful not to disturb him too much. The warmth of his shoulder lingered on her cheek. Ishana took a deep breath, inhaling the fresh morning air. The forest around them was alive with the sound of birds chirping and leaves rustling, a gentle symphony that welcomed the new day.

Abhiman, still pretending to sleep, could feel her movements and the slight shift in the air. He fought the urge to smile, maintaining his façade. After a few moments, he sensed her settling back beside him, and he let his eyes flutter open, pretending to wake up.

"Good morning," he murmured, his voice low and gentle.

Ishana turned to him, her eyes bright and a small, knowing smile playing on her lips. "Good morning," she replied softly.

For a moment, they simply looked at each other, the unspoken bond between them stronger than any words could convey. The sun climbed higher, casting a golden glow over everything, and the world seemed to hold its breath.

“Aap yaha so gaye the?” she asked, her voice a whisper of concern and tenderness.

[You fell asleep here only.]

“Ummm... actually baat karte karte neend kab aa gayi, pata nahi chala,” he replied, a sheepish smile tugging at his lips.

[Yes I didn't realised when.]

For a few moments, silence settled between them, filled only with the sounds of the early morning.

“Sorry,” Ishana finally said, her voice barely audible, her eyes cast down.

“For what?” Abhiman asked, his brows furrowed in confusion.

“Aapko kal raat faltu mein pareshan hona pada meri wajah se... par main aapko apna dukh bata ke udaas nahi karna chahti thi,” she admitted, guilt weighing heavy on her words.
