Neuvillette's acting was flabbergasting, the fact that he could make even the most emotional scenes seem so real! Furina really did do a good job finding a replacement. The way he stood, long white hair cascading over his shoulders, making him look like a goddess. His violet eyes watery and glassy with unshod tears. The way he places a hand over his chest, like he was physically hurting from the inside.
"My love, you broke our oath... it is to my dread that now I must leave, for the curtain call has come for the sinners final pirouette. Perhaps we shall be reunited in the next universe, somewhere only we know."
"Ma tresor, why must one abandon thy like this? Have I not provided eternal faith and devotion? Please, forgive me, and I shall make sure it never happens again..."
Wriothesley was slightly shocked as he felt the tears running down his cheeks, small rivulets of water. Damn, the other was so good, he taught him how to act! Heh, how ironic.
"Mon mari, I fear our separation as much as you do, but alas, there is nothing I can do to bring back our marriage... my oath to the Queen herself was to never marry, remain a maiden for my entire life, yet I endowed myself to you. I was told to carefully keep my identity a secret, and to pass as a siren, yet you broke my request, and now, I must leave. Forgive me, mon mari..."
Neuvillette elegantly twirled, softly weeping to himself as he glided offstage, his outfit changing into the dress he was wearing earlier, a sky blue that faded into white. He flourished with a bow, and the lights dimmed, giving the other sufficient time to sprint backstage. When he had successfully left, the scene switched and Chevreuse stepped back up, picking up her part.
"After Dyeus and Themis parted ways, Dyeus was stricken with agonizing grief as he mourned over the loss of his wife, his beloved. For days, he was nothing but an empty shell of the lively boy he was once. Until one fateful day, when he took the Lumidouce out to sea, all alone. Yet, to this day, not any living being has reported to see him or the ship. Many say that he must've crashed, and sunk beneath the waves, or maybe died from scurvy. from Others weave tales about how he travails over vast and rocky oceans, crying out to Themis in hopes to be reunited."
The audience sat in hushed silence as the stage crew all ran up, and took a bow.
"Ladies and Gents, we thank you all for your wonderful presence tonight at the Opera Épiclèse. Today's play was based off of an ancient Fontainian folktale. Now, we shall introduce our cast."
Neuvillette stepped up, curtsying as he spoke.
"I am Neuvillette, and I played Themis."
Lyney stood up.
"I am Lyney, and I played Antonio, heart of the crew."
And so on and so forth.
(Timeskip bcz I really don't wanna do all of their intros, sorry y'all 🫥)
Neuvillette was by the Fountain of Lucine, his hair still in that delicate style, and he was chatting with Furina.
"I must thank you for letting me contribute to your performance tonight, Lady Furina."
"Oh, p-please, just Furina is fine!"
"Monsieur Neuvillette!"
He turned, and saw Sigewinne running to him, a smile on her face. Behind her, Wriothesley was sprinting, and he caught her, scooping her up in his arms, chuckling.
"Gotcha! Where do you think you're going, young lady?"
"Eek! It's the big bad wolf!"
She giggles, smiling from ear to ear. As Neuvillette watched the interaction, a slight curve of own his lips appeared on his face.
"Ah, I'm afraid I must get going... It is late after all..."
He sighed.
"I will see you soon, Miss Furina."
"Goodbye, Monsieur Neuvillette."
As he turned to leave, he felt a tap on his shoulder. The Iudex peered over to see who it was.
"Ah, Wriothesley. Something the matter?"
"Ah, none of that. I saw you leaving, and um, I was wondering if you maybe wanted to grab a meal with me at Cafe Lucerne? It's not often we get to see eachother, hm?"
He pauses, pondering over it. He bit his lower lip in thought.
"I'd love to, Duke."
