Wriothesley watched as from the entrance of the Palais Mermonia, a couple walked out, equally traumatized. The woman's eyes were wide and she was shaking as she gingerly brushed a hand to her neck. On it, there were noticeable red hand prints, as if she'd been choked. The man put a jacket around her shoulders, trying his best to soothe her.

Another day in Fontaine...

He sighed to himself, and pushed open the doors. The Duke was greeted by Sedene's smiling face, and he nodded in acknowledgement, ruffling her hair with a chuckle.

"Ugh-! Your Grace!"

She pouted up at him, and he smirked at her playfully. Her expression faded back into a smile, and she nodded at him.

"Monsieur Neuvillette is in his office, but I suggest you be quiet. Lucille is with him."

"Thanks for the heads up, I'll keep that in mind."

Lucille, my little princess.

Wriotheskey couldn't help but smile at the thought of her. Archons, she had him wrapped around her finger with that sweet smile and bright copies of his eyes...

Knocking on the door, he entered after he heard his friend's familiar voice. Expecting to see a mothering Neuvillette, the sight before him was one thing he certainly hasn't predicted.

Neuvillette was slouched in his chair, holding a sleeping Lucille to his chest as he looked up glumly. Wriothesley's concern skyrocketed, and he closed the door behind him, striking over to the pair.

"Hey, what's up?"

The Iudex hummed, and turned Lucille around. On her pale cheek, there was a bright red hand mark, as if someone had hit her.

It was like a bomb had gone off inside him.

"Who did it."

Wriothesley's voice wasn't a question, a cold, deadly command.

"A couple coming in earlier claiming to be Lucille's parents..."

A couple? Wait a damn minute... wasn't there a pair walking out when he was about to go in?

"What did the woman look like?"

"Brunette, with green eyes and a mole under her ear."

Damn it! He'd led the assaulter of his own daughter slip away without him noticing!

"Have you filed a case on them yet? They could serve a hefty sentence in Meropide for child abuse, negligation, and assault."

Neuvillette looked up, eyes sparking to life.

"Clever as always, Your Grace."
