(Special shout out to one of my dearest friends who goes by riel, because she gave me this idea when I was venting to her about not knowing what to do for the main conflict of the story. Yes I use technical terms I have a 99% in ELA I'm sorry I'm a huge nerd🫥)

Neuvillette's eyes practically bulged out of his head. Twelve. Twelve people dead.  How? When? A million questions and thoughts raced through his mind. The number wasn't anywhere near small, that was a massacre! Giving himself a moment to recover from the initial shock, he picked up the paper and began to skim it thoroughly for more details.

'By the Court of Fontaine's outskirts, an anonymous passerby reported to the Maison Gestion that a fowl, rotting stench was coming from a small cottage nearby. Gardes who were on patrol agreed with the witness, reporting that on duty a stomach churning smell was often wafting around, practically tangible. Seeing the continous pattern that seemed to be taking place, a group of armed Marechaussee Hunters were deployed to go and investigate. The house belonged to a small, elderly lady who had passed, by the name of "Agnes Wildegurr". After receiving a green light to go in further and explore from their superiors, the posse ventured deeper. In the closet farthest to the door, the remnants of twenty-four year old "Janaki Marguzhali", a traveling Sumerian who had come to visit were uncovered alongside "Kiminoshi Agamika", a forty-eight year old renown textile store owner. Madame Chevreuse, captain of the Maison Gardiennage's Special Security and Surveillance Patrol, quotes the exact following:'

"Both victim's bodies are well preserved, making it harder to identify whether they were recently assaulted or were long ago attacked and discovered. The serial killer has once again engraved his signature flower into each person's palm, along with ripping out strands of their hair to form a rose that is sculpted with blood." - Chevreuse, interviewed at 18:27 pm

Setting down the column, Neuvillette rested his palm to his forehead. The day he got back into work, and of course he had to deal with a murder case of twelve people... why did Celestia despise him so much?
