While Lucille may rest, Neuvillette doesn't. Humming a soft tune to himself, he made his way to the Palais Mermonia, heels clacking against the familiar marble floors of the office. Due to the infant in his arms, he was all but focused on where he was going.

Hm... Lucille could use a crib and maybe some toys as well. Not to mention a proper bottle... Ah! Diapers! Maybe some clothes as well? Chioriya Boutique is rather lavish in their garments-

The Iudex, being zoned out, bumped directly into Sedene, who yelped and fell down. Instantly, Neuvillette's heart shattered.

Oh my, oh my, oh my, my poor dear...

"Are you alright, Miss Sedene?"

Neuvillette kneeled down, picking up the files she'd been carrying as the little Melusine nodded, fixing her hat.

"Of course, Monsieur Neuvillette! My apologies!"

Neuvillette smiled down at her, and fondly patted her head.

"Ah, I believe I am the one in need to apologize. I was so focused on the child, I lost track of where I was headed. I due hope my carelessness hasn't inflicted harm upon you?"

His expression shifted to one of worry, and she shook her head, smiling as she dusted off her clothing.

"Nope, all good!"

"Very well. I apologize for my earlier inconsciences."

Handing her the papers, he gave her another soft smile. Sedene reciprocated with one of her own, before her face turned a little serious.

"Oh! I forgot to mention earlier, but a couple had requested a meeting with you yesterday while you were absent for your dinner date with the Duke. I've scheduled it to an hour after now, for it's the only time your schedule is clear!"

A meeting? With who? Hmph, how troublesome.

The Chief Justice nodded, and smiled down at her before disappearing behind the secretive and secluded office doors that guarded all of the city's most valuable information. Lucille turned in his arms, and he rocked her for a few minutes, before she fell back asleep.
