NOVEMBER 1 9:42AM

The rest of the morning went by surprisingly normal, even after all that happened. My mother cooked breakfast, while my father stalked away somewhere looking around the house. I sat in the living room talking to Laurie trying to get know her. All of this feels very odd, it's like we're putting on this fake act, trying to pretend to be this normal perfect family. But in reality, my father is a deranged serial killer that escaped a mental asylum. My aunt Laurie has been getting tormented and stalked by him for almost her entire life. And my mother, I'm not sure what to think of her right now, I don't know whether to be angry or scared of her at this point. I try to remind myself that she's my mother, and everything's she's doing is for the best- for me, for her, for our "family". But it still bothers me that she kidnapped Laurie, and it still bothers me that she fell in love with a killer, and that killer is my father. She says she wants this to be a normal family but I don't think it ever was normal, and I don't think it'll ever be normal, no matter how hard I try to pretend.

We all spent the rest of the morning in the living room watching the news, with what happened yesterday night I know it's gonna be all over television and in the papers. My mom was still worried that the police would be able to track Michael down since he's the one who killed Tyler and his best friends. But I reassured her that I was the only one that witnessed everything, and everyone that night was either drunk out of their mind or high as a kite, so no one shouldn't have been able to recognize me or my father.

"We have reports of a gruesome murder that happened last night in Oakland Creek at the Banks Household." A male news reporter was saying.

"Here it is!" My mom said out of the blues making me jump, we all stayed quiet and listened.

"At around midnight last night, on Halloween. There was a gruesome murder that took place, claiming the lives of 4 teenage boys. There names are Raylon Brown, Jacob Roberts, Marcus Cooper, and Tyler Banks." The Male reporter read from a paper on the desk. "The murders took place not too far from the Banks house, the bodies were found only about a yard away from the resident out on the bank of Glasswood Lake. Tyler Banks was a very well known student at Darwin high school and was having a party on Halloween night, the very night he and his friends were murdered." The reporter lady said. They showed some pictures of Tyler and his friends, it's pretty spooky seeing them smiling and alive now, knowing they were killed and I saw it all happen. "The Haddonfield police department are still working on the case and trying to figure out who killed them, but for now they have no comment on it. But we did speak to the Banks family who weren't aware of the Halloween party that had happened that night."

The screen changed now showing a very teary eyed woman who I'd assume was Tyler's mother. She had his very bright blonde hair and big round green eyes, it looked like her face was caked with makeup but it was all a mess now from her crying. A large man with a bushy brown mustache stood behind her with his arms crossed, he wasn't crying but his eyes were red and puffy. "My baby boy. He was such a sweet innocent little boy." She wailed into the microphone a reporter was holding, I snorted and rolled my eyes. "We were out at a little party last night, and Tyler did say he was having a few friends over- I didn't know he was having a big Halloween party, we would've never approved of it." She paused and covered her face with her hands and let out a sob, her husband rubbed her shoulder trying to comfort her. "But now he's gone!" She sobbed. The screen went back to the news station, "The Banks family do have an outdoor camera that's in the woods near the Lake. It captured what looked to be Tyler and his friends walking down there." The male reporter said, they showed some very low quality pictures that looked like Tyler and his friends walking down to the lake. I could feel my heart racing now, barely hearing what the news reporter was saying. I didn't know they had cameras out there, and if they do then-

"There was also some footage of two other people walking down to that area as well, if you recognize any of these people please call the Haddonfield police office." The lady reporter said, and what they showed next made me heart sink. It was me in one of those pictures, I could tell even with how blurry it is. There was also a picture of my father, but the quality of the camera was so bad that all I could make out was his white mask. I looked at my mother now with wide eyes, she was still watching it, but I could tell by the look on her face that she was very worried and upset. "Coming up next! The best recipes for Thanksgiving-"

My mother turned the tv off and we all sat there for a moment in silence.

"Mom, I didn't know there were cameras-"

"This is why you should've stayed your ass home instead of running off to that damn party!" My mom snapped now glaring at me. "No one else really knew I was down there! Only Tyler and his friends knew! You can't even recognize us in the picture-"

"IT DOESN'T MATTER!" My mom yelled throwing her hands in the air, "They're already looking for your father, and I know it's not gonna take rocket science for them to figure out who's behind all of that shit!" She said angrily now standing up. "And now that they got you AND your father on camera they're gonna put two and two together and come over here to our shit." She said angrily pointing at me. I was to anxious to reply to any of that, I swallowed nervously and looked at Laurie for some kind of reassurance, but she looked defeated. I ran my hand through my hair trying to calm myself down and think of what could happen, the pictures were very blurry so I couldn't be recognized that easy. My father maybe, with his reputation and the fact that he escaped the Asylum. But I'm also very tall and have a very unique figure for a girl, I'm the tallest girl at my school, so of course if anybody from my school sees it they might recognize me. "Well, what are we gonna do now?" I asked, not knowing what else to say or do at this point. My mom was standing up now pacing back and forth in front of the fireplace, me and Laurie watched her anxiously waiting for an answer. "I wasn't planning on leaving this place at least until a week or two." She said, but it sounded like she was talking to herself.

"We're gonna have to all stay in this house, that means you're not going to school and I'm not going to work, at least until all of this shit dies down a bit." She said. "And then what? We leave the state?" I asked her.

"Well, it's not the state, but it's a town very far away from Haddonfield. Up in the mountains, I have a house up there, that's where we'll go." She explained.

"You've had this all planned out for a long time haven't you?" Laurie ask making me look at her. She hadn't spoken a word since the news was on. My mom said nothing and just nodded still staring at the fireplace. Laurie said nothing else, but she looked like she was in deep thought, thinking about something.
