"Hyunjin's instincts are currently controlling him right now. He needs to replenish the blood he lost and fight off the venom in his body. Well, his mate is a vampire, right? Where is she? We need her blood."

Silence wrapped them. They turned towards Mira whose face looked so heartbroken. She hated being so useless and not being able to do anything. She saw how Chan approached the doctor and explained the situation.

The doctor looked surprised before nodding in understanding. "I advise we keep his mate out of this room just until we can make sure he's back in his normal state. He will most likely try to grab her the moment he wakes up and seeing as she's human, she could experience fatalities."

"Unnie, I want to help, please." Mira begged her unnie who was taking her to one of the guest rooms of the manor to hide her from her mate.

Yeji looked at her sadly. "You and I know that's not possible-"

"He could die!"

"You could die, Mira." Yeji said in a calm voice, unphased with the way the younger woman yelled at her. She knew she must be going crazy knowing her mate is dying and she can't do anything about it.

Mira cried, tears falling from her eyes as she knelt to the floor, weak and trembling. "Unnie..."

Yeji tried not to tear up at the sight. "Mira, we promise to help as much as we can."

It was a lie. Both of them knew that. The only thing that could grant Hyunjin a hundred percent chance of healing was her blood, and she can't give it. Extracting her blood from her wouldn't be so different than any other blood bags. He must feed from her directly. Knowing that he can't was killing Mira slowly.

"Unnie, am I a bad person?" She whispered.

Yeji froze. She hugged the trembling woman. "You're not, Mira. I hope you can see yourself the way we see you. We swear to make sure Hyunjin survives this, okay little one?"

Mira only nodded. She knew holding her unnie back would only make her a burden. They already have enough on their plate as it is. "Okay. Please take care of him." She sniffed.

Yeji hesitantly left the room but still did so. As soon as Yeji left, Mira cried silently, covering her mouth to not let any of the sounds out. The walls of the manor never felt cold. That was until she was alone with her thoughts that was slowly consuming her mind.

"This is breaking my heart." Nari winced as Minho applied some healing ointment on the burns she somehow managed to catch. Vampires heal quickly but because of the venom, their usual regeneration was taking longer than usual.

Despite crying silently, they can all hear Mira's cries except for the humans who did not have heightened senses.

"We're going to lose him quickly at this rate. Squeeze the bag." The doctor said, giving specific instructions to save the dying vampire on the table.

It was a bit ironic. Vampires are technically dead and yet they're trying to revive one at the moment.

"Please be safe."
