Coven

Mira was helping Yeji in the kitchen as they prepared for their guests. The apartment was filled with beautiful aromas and was lively as music played. "If you really were an idol in your other life. What songs do you think you'd release?" Yeji asked.

"I would release songs about loving myself and having confidence in myself."

Yeji nodded, adding more water to the soup they were cooking. "What do you think your team's name will be?"

Mira pretended to think about it. "It would be Itzy." She was already starting to feel emotional again, so she wanted to change the topic as soon as possible. "When will Chaeryoung arrive?"

She was taking her chance to be able to call them informally because as soon as they introduce themselves, she will be back to calling them unnies. 

"That's her. Open the door for her please." Yeji politely asked Mira seeing as she was still busy with the soup. They heard someone knock on the door and based on Yeji's words, it will be Chaeryoung.

Mira nodded, standing up. "I'll do it."

She went towards the door, bracing herself mentally. "Welcome. You must be Chaeryoung-ssi?"

Mira's breathing was shaky as she took in the image of the last unnie she was meeting. In her world, she was the closest with Chaeryoung. They used to be roommates in their old dorm and the older woman taught her a lot in life.

"I am. You must be Mira-ssi?" She smiled.

Mira smiled back at her, holding back her emotions from overpowering her once more. "I am. Please come in."

"Where can I place these?" Chaeryoung said as she lifted the several bags she brought filled with foods and snacks as well as drinks that is more than enough for all of them.

"You didn't have to." Mira smiled.

Chaeryoung shook her head. "Oh don't worry about it." She laughed as she made herself comfortable on the couch that Hyunjin bought for Mira.

"Can vampires even eat human food?" Yeji asked, feeling stupid that she didn't ask beforehand.

"They eat human food without problem. They just don't feel full from it alone. There's a reason why I brought blood bags." Mira answered.

Chaeryoung shook her hand. "You really did not have to."

Mira smiled at her. "We'll be having three vampires as our guests. It only seemed fitting."

"Ryujin is in the house!" The said woman immediately said as soon as Mira opened the door for her.

Soon, Yuna and Lia also arrived. "Chae? You know them?" Lia asked.

"Oh? You know each other?" Ryujin asked.

"Vampires know each other." Yuna simply asked

"Food is served! Vampire or human please watch your hands before eating. Everyone in the dining room please!" Yeji called in her loud voice.

As they spent time with each other that evening Mira found herself smiling more than ever.

'So this is how a coven feels like.'

"Hyung, why don't you just bite her?"

Hyunjin smirked at the question. "You think I haven't thought of that, Seungmin? Her disease is fatal. She is terribly weak even if she might seem like she isn't. The doctor and healer both said that the vampire venom will kill her."

Bangchan patted Hyunjin's back sympathetically. "What do you plan on doing now?"

"Hyung?"

Three heads turned towards him. "You won't hate me if I become human, right?"

Ever since the day they hang out at the apartment, the six have been spending more time with each other which made Mira the happiest amongst them.

They were currently at the living quarters above the Miroh Café which was owned both by Yuna and Lia.  The soothing smell of pasties made the place cozy and comfortable.

"Are you mated, Mira?" Chaeryoung asked.

Mira nodded. "I know what you're going to ask." She smiled sadly. "Unfortunately, because of my disease, becoming a vampire is out of the question. Why?"

Yuna decided to break the news. "There have been reports of feral vampires roaming around and hunting humans. Your mate can probably sense if you're in danger but for Yeji and Ryujin, it can be a bit difficult seeing as they're not mated or part of a coven."

Mira decided to ask a question. "Are you three a part of a coven?"

The three vampires exchanged looks. "No. Come to think of it. Why aren't we in a coven?" Lia asked in a knowing tone.

Chaeryoung smiled at them. "Maybe because we have been waiting for three specific humans to agree."

"Hey!" Ryujin protested.

"You can't be-"

"Let us be a coven. Yeji, Mira, Ryujin we are formally asking you. The three of us has been discussing this for a while and we want to become a family with you." Lia spoke up.

Mira was surprised with the fact that Hyunjin was right. He was suspecting the fact that the three vampires were bound to ask them for a coven one way or the other. Hyunjin had no problems about it. Covens were most likely families, and a coven would provide more protection for his petal.

"Please tell me you aren't joking because I'm so happy right now and I don't want to be disappointed." Mira said, letting out the maknae in her.

Lia smiled, patting her head. "We aren't joking, little one. I assume you agree? What about you two?"

Yeji nodded. "I really don't mind."

Ryujin also followed. "So how does this work? I never really paid attention in class when they explained this."

"To put it simply, we have to bite you three then each other at our pulse points at our neck. If you look at Mira's, hers hasn't disappeared because she was bitten by her mate."

"What does a bond feel like?" Yeji asked.

Mira smiled. "Like a warm blanket on a cold weather. It's like you feel safe no matter what."

"After that, we have to present as a new coven. Which is why the BTS coven holds a ball every month to be able to give covens a chance to introduce themselves." Chaeryoung added.

Yeji nodded. "Well, what are we waiting for."

As the bite healed, Mira can't help but feel fuzzy with how happy she is. She tries to savor the moment knowing it wouldn't last long.
