The remaining contestants were made to wait outside for a few minutes.
"So, uh..." Barf Bag scratched her head. "What's the deal? Doesn't look like we're gonna do anything yet." "Speaker box says we will." Pen replied. "Dunno what, but it's probably the next contest." Teardrop nodded in agreement, but the bag still wasn't too convinced. "I'm gonna go ask around; see if anyone else knows anything else." She'd walk around, looking for someone that might know a thing or two; given that there aren't that many options nowadays, she ended up going to Pin. "Hey, uh... Pin, right?" Barfy began. "Yep! That's me." The pushpin replied. "What's up?" "Just, uh..." The bag rolled her eyes. "Wanted to ask a few questions. You know." "Oh, like what you did with TB?" Pin glared at her; there'd be a tense few seconds of awkward silence as the two just... stared at each other. "Well, I'll be happy to answer!" The thumbtack returned to her faux-enthusiastic tone. "I'm sure I know whatever it is you need to know; I know the most about everything going on here!" Teardrop glared at her from nearby, though neither would notice. "Huh. Really?" Barf Bag asked. "Why's that? Is that something you can back up, or is that just..." "I know that sounds a bit pretentious, but I can *totally* back that up." Pin continued. "Out of everyone here, only I actually take things seriously! I've done everything in my power to be steadfast, courageous, and heroic!"
"Mhm." The bag nodded. "So, you know what's going on here? Why we're being made to wait out here for seemingly no reason?"
Ellipsis.
"Hello again, everyone." The Announcer finally arrived to give some long-awaited answers. "Sorry for taking a while; it took a bit longer to get everything ready for the contest." "Which is?" The writing utensil asked. "Well, to answer that, we must first get there; and to get there, we need to go to space." "What? That's crazy!" Pin exclaimed. "We're going to *space*? Nobody's been there in around 2,763 years!" Leafy looked at her, interested. "That's a pretty impressive fact." She'd remark. "How'd you know that?" "TB told me about it." The pushpin answered. "Before... you know."
"Yes, it's true." The speaker box continued. "As BFDI is entering its last few episodes, I am going to be spicing things up considerably. Expect more action, adventure, and excitement as we finally decide who gets to win Dream Island." "More action, huh?" Taco scoffed. "*Great*."
The Announcer then turned to their spaceship, which has always been there the entire time, and everyone just... ignored. For some reason. Probably because it didn't actually exist until it was just mentioned. Don't think about it too much. "Everyone, go inside." He'd order. "We will be taking off shortly." With nothing better to do with their lives, they'd do exactly that.
The spaceship just had the absolute minimum: six seats for the six contestants, and an additional seat for the metal box. There seemed to be absolutely no controls of any kind, but that's probably because the machine didn't need a fancy physical interface. "Seatbelts on." The box commanded. "We don't want you floating out of your seats." Most of the contestants would get to it; they haven't used seat belts before, but it was intuitive enough. Barf Bag, however, would be focusing on something else before putting on her own. She'd fiddle around with her body for a bit, trying to seal it up so that none of the vomit ends up flying out. Teardrop would notice her struggling with this and would help her out, closing it as best as she could and wrapping things up with a piece of tape to secure it. "...I should probably do that too." Taco muttered to herself, immediately imagining her ingredients floating about with no easy ways to get them back. She'd end up struggling heavily with that, and by the end she still wasn't quite done.
Time would inevitably pass, and the spaceship would get going. It was a gradual ascent at first, but would very quickly pick up in pace as it accelerated. Further and further they went, going far beyond Goiky, far beyond the only home they'd ever known. They'd see it in a way they'd never seen before, from so high up, then got to see all the lands which surrounded it, distant horizons they didn't even think existed. And then they went even *further* still. It was all awe-inspiring, pretty amazing. It made them reflect. It made them wonder... why are they going to space *now*, of all times? What made the Announcer think that having a contest in space was such a great idea? How did he even get a spaceship? How'd he get *any* of the stuff he has? How was he able to get this competition up and running? Why were they all still agreeing to compete in it? What exactly was driving them to betray their friends for the sake of winning an island? Was it that island? Was it something else? All those questions, having spent a bit of time simmering in the back of their heads, were now fully back in the spotlight. Seriously, *how*? How has any of this happened? Why did they let it happen?
