The shrill ring of my phone shattered the stillness of my bedroom, jolting me out of a fitful sleep. I groaned, reaching blindly for the phone, heart pounding in my chest as I fumbled to answer the call.

"Hello?" I mumbled, my voice still thick with sleep.

"Rose, it's Alex," came the urgent voice on the other end of the line. "We're on our way. We've got the results."

My heart lurched in my chest at the seriousness in Alex's tone. I sat up abruptly, mind racing with a thousand questions. "The results? Did you open it?"

"Not yet," Alex replied, his voice tight with tension. "I'll explain when we get there. Just... be ready."

The line went dead, leaving me staring at my phone in shock. Fear clawed at my insides, twisting and turning until it felt like I couldn't breathe. Stumbling out of bed, my limbs trembling with adrenaline as I fought to keep the rising panic at bay.

No, I couldn't let fear control me. I had to stay calm, had to keep it together. But as the minutes ticked by, the weight of uncertainty bore down on me like a leaden blanket, suffocating me with its suffocating grip.

And then, without warning, it happened. A surge of raw power surged through my veins, igniting my senses with a ferocity I could barely contain. I gasped, clutching at my chest as my vision blurred and my surroundings began to warp and distort.

Desperation clawed at my mind as I fought to hold onto my fragile grip on reality. But the darkness was relentless, closing in around me with a suffocating intensity that threatened to consume me whole.

With a guttural cry of anguish, I surrendered to the chaos, my vampire powers erupting in a violent display of raw emotion. Furniture splintered and shattered, walls buckled and cracked, and the air crackled with the electrifying energy of my unleashed fury.

And then, just as suddenly as it had begun, it was over. I collapsed to the floor, my body trembling with exhaustion as I struggled to catch my breath. The room lay in ruins around me, a silent testament to the destructive power that lay dormant within my soul.

Tears streamed down my cheeks as I struggled to make sense of what had just happened. I was a monster, a freak, a danger to everyone around me. How could I ever hope to control the darkness that raged within me?

But as I lay there, battered and broken, a small voice whispered in the depths of my soul. The harder I tried to listen, the more I realized it was the shadows.

The room was cloaked in darkness, broken only by the feeble light of the moon filtering through the curtains. I sat alone on the cold floor, surrounded by the remnants of my shattered world. The shadows danced around me, their formless shapes whispering secrets again.

"Who are you?" I whispered into the darkness, my voice trembling with uncertainty.

The shadows remained silent, their ethereal presence weaving through the air like wisps of smoke. But I could feel their gaze upon me, cold and piercing, like the eyes of a thousand unseen specters.

"Are you spirits?" I asked, my voice gaining strength as I struggled to make sense of the chaos that consumed my mind.

Still, the shadows said nothing, their enigmatic silence echoing through the darkness like a haunting melody. Frustration bubbled up inside me, mingling with the fear and uncertainty that threatened to consume me whole.

"Why won't you answer me?" I cried, my voice echoing off the walls of my shattered room.

And then, just when I thought I couldn't bear the silence any longer, I heard it. A faint whisper, barely more than a breath of air, but unmistakably real.

"We are the echoes of your soul," the voice murmured, its words sending a chill down my spine.I gasped, my heart pounding in my chest as I struggled to come to terms with what I had just heard. The shadows were not spirits, I realized. They were a part of me, a reflection of the darkness that lurked within my own soul.

Tears welled up in my eyes as I reached out to the shadows, their formless shapes swirling and shifting beneath my fingertips. "Show me," I whispered, my voice barely more than a prayer. "Teach me how to embrace the darkness within me, so that I may find the light."

I closed my eyes and surrendered to the darkness, allowing it to envelop me in its cold embrace. For I knew that only by confronting the shadows within myself could I ever hope to find the light.

As I sat there, enveloped in the darkness, a sudden knock on the door shattered the fragile peace that had settled over me. I froze, my heart pounding in my chest as I listened to the sound of footsteps approaching.

"Rose, are you in there?" came Stan's voice, muffled through the heavy wooden door.

Before I could respond, the door swung open, flooding the room with harsh light. I shielded my eyes, blinking against the sudden brightness as Stan and Alberta stepped inside, their expressions a mixture of shock and concern.

"What happened in here?" Alberta exclaimed, her eyes widening in disbelief as she took in the scene before her.

I swallowed hard, my throat dry as I struggled to find the words to explain.

But before I could say anything, Alberta's gaze locked with mine, her eyes searching my face for any sign of deception. And then, without warning, she stepped forward, her expression softening with understanding.

"Rose, what did you do?" she asked, her voice gentle but firm as she reached out and turned my face up, her gaze reaching mine once again.

I flinched at her touch, my eyes brimming with tears as I struggled to contain the overwhelming flood of emotions threatening to consume me whole. "I... I managed to get an answer from the spirits," I whispered, my voice trembling with awe and wonder. "Even though they're only shadows, I... I reached out to them, and they answered me."

Alberta's eyes widened in concern, her gaze flickering between me and the shattered remains of my room. "Rose," she murmured, her voice thick with emotion. "What have you done?"

Stan only starring at the room, his face blank.
