Koby and Luffy arrived at the center of the town, sweating and panting, just in time to see a flood of people enter the building, all of them wearing masks and fancy outfits.
Nami and Zoro were waiting outside of it, waiting for them.
"Finally; took you two forever. Did you get lost or something?" Zoro said, adjusting his mask so it covered his face. The left side was patched up so that nobody noticed he'd lost his left eye, but blended in perfectly.
"YOU ARENT ALLOWED TO SAY THAT TO US!" Luffy and Nami snapped at the same time, and Koby giggled a bit and pulled his mask down on his face.
Luffy turned to tug him into the building, and paused for a moment, staring at Koby with an odd expression.
Nami and Zoro rolled their eyes behind their backs as the four of them walked in, Nami holding onto Zoro and Luffy to ensure they don't get lost. Koby followed, holding onto the tail of Luffy's coat. Narrowly avoiding getting squashed, he ducked under the arm of a noble in a blue suit that was terribly tacky. Finally, they made it through the crowd into the humongous ballroom house. It was adorned with tile mosaics everywhere on the ceiling, and walls with murals everywhere. On the wall was a stunning painting of a man who was the earth, and a woman whose body resembled the night reaching towards each other.

Koby began gazing in awe at the beautiful interior, but Luffy gripped his wrist and headed immediately towards the buffet table.
"Luffy-san, I think we need to wait to eat, okay?" Koby said, and Luffy stopped short of grabbing a huge piece of sea-king meat with a wide-eyed, heart-broken expression.
"Why? Koby, Im starving!" Luffy whined, tugging on Koby's sleeve to express his distress even further.
"I know, Luffy-san, but how about we grab some appetizers and.. um.." Koby swallowed nervously, fiddling with his hair as he worked up the courage to ask. "W-what if we danced together?"
Luffy paused with a macaroon halfway to his mouth and faced Koby again. "Yeah! I'd love to dance with Koby!" He grinned and laughed a little, then tossed it into his mouth and piled a plate high with hors d'oeuvres. Koby could not believe that he'd actually just had the courage to ask, and that Luffy had actually said yes. He smiled widely, and reached over and plucked a strawberry shortcake from Luffy's plate, much to the pirate's dismay, and took a bite, giggling at Luffy sighing with a forced scowl.
After a few minutes, Luffy and Koby made their onto the dance floor.
"Luffy-san, that's not how you dance at masquerade balls..." Koby chuckled at Luffy's very poor dance moves. "Do you know how to foxtrot?"
"um.. a what?" Came his confused response.
"Okay, lets go like this." Koby smiled and decided on an easy slow dance. He carefully wrapped one arm around Luffy's back, and placed Luffy's arm on Koby's own shoulder.
"And with the other hand, um.." The marine flushed as he carefully, slowly, intertwined his fingers with Luffy's. He felt the pirate stiffen, then saw him relax and look away. Slowly, he led Luffy into a careful step around the dance floor. After a while, the song being broadcast on the Transponder Snail changed to a fast-paced beat, and soon Luffy began tearing up the floor with Koby.
The marine laughed in happiness as Luffy spun him in a circle, and they rotated right on beat with the drums of the song joyfully. People stared and talked under their breath at the two men dancing together, some angrily and some talking about the happy surprise. But for once, Koby didn't care what others thought. He had only two thoughts in his head; One, keep dancing, and two..
How lucky I am to have the sun himself in my embrace.
