The streets were busy. People were waiting for buses others walking to work. It wasn't surprising people bumped into him.
After a half hour walk he made it to work. Dazai jumped at him the minute he entered. "Hey Kunikida-kun"
He nodded in acknowledgment. "Say nice box you have there. What's in it" Dazai asked while pestering him,trying to see what was in the box.
"Nothing"
"Then can I see?"
"No"
Dazai pretended to pout. "But Kunikida-Kun. If it's an empty box why can't I see?"
He was about to speak but someone said "Leave him alone Dazai-San" Kunikida signed in relief. Atushi saved him from being harassed by Dazai.
Kunikida walked toward his office and said "How about you do some work instead of making everyone's days miserable"
Dazai signed and went to his office.
Once inside he placed the box on the desk and started reading the latest report of some missing child. It wasn't uncommon in Yokohama for people to go missing,and it wasn't even the armed agency job to solve it. A knock on the door startled him. Quickly he regained his composure and said "Yes?"
Ranpo walked in. He said in his usual bored way "Hey Kunikida,I finished the case"
"Oh? Very good"
He shrugged and says "Honestly it wasn't that hard. The lead investigator was guilty and nobody believed me and-"
He was interrupted by a tiny voice "let me out! It's hot In here"
Kunikida tried not to look down. Ranpo said "what was that?"
He said "ummmm. I'm practicing voice acting"
"Please someone help!!"
Kunikida could hear her pounding on the box. "Uhhhhh...welll...hm" he was struggling to make a good excuse.
Ranpo finally asked what he was dreading the most. "What's in the box" it was no use trying to lie.
"Dont tell anyone. But I might have created someone-" "WHAT??!" Ranpo Interrupted him. "Let me finish. I was writing about my ideal women in my ideals. And next thing I know there was this girl"
He slowly opened the box and yn climbed out. Ranpo looked down at her. She glared at Kunikida and says "You fat pig. It was getting hot in there."
"Some mouth" Ranpo said with a chuckle.
"Would you mind not telling anyone about this?" Kunikida pleaded. Ranpo nodded
Someone then said "we heard that all" He looked over and all the other agency members were standing at the door. "Oh no" Kunikida thought.
