A few minutes passed and Haseena collected herself from her emotional breakdown, wiping away the tears that had streamed down her face. She took a deep breath, trying to steady herself, and walked to the bathroom to freshen up. The cold water splashed against her skin, a jolt of reality that she desperately needed. As she returned to her room, she was startled to find Ammi standing there, a plate of food in her hands.

"Kyu lai hai ye aap Ammi? Hume nhi khana kuch bhi," Haseena replied, her voice trembling as she tried to maintain a semblance of calm.

"Tumhe jo ladna, jagadna hai aur muh fulana hai ye khana khane ke baad kar lena. Abhi chup chap khalo," Ammi's tone was firm, but beneath it lay a layer of deep concern.

"Aap kha lijiye. Kyu piche padhi hai humari? Kam se kam ye toh apne marzi se karne dijiye," Haseena's frustration bubbled to the surface, her voice rising despite her efforts to stay composed.

"Abhi tak sab tumhari marzi se hi chal aa raha hai. Bas ek chiz ko kya hume toka toh itni pareshani ho rahi hai? Yaad karke toh dekho, kabhi kisi chiz keliye roka ho tumhe? Jo karna hai us mein saath diya. Jo chahiye uske liye woh diya. Ek baar bhi kabhi tumhari kisi bhi chiz pe shaq nahi kiya aur tum ye baat kar rahi ho, Haseena," Ammi's voice wavered between sternness and a heartbreaking emotion, a blend of disappointment and love.

"Toh Ammi aapka woh bharosa kaha gaya ki hum jo bhi karte hai soch samajh ke karte hai? Is baar kyu nahi man rahi humari baat aap?" Haseena asked, her lips twisting in a mix of hurt and defiance.

"Hum iss pe baad mein baat kar lenge. Abhi keliye khana khane aao," Ammi replied plainly, trying to put an end to the argument.

"Tch, Ammi," Haseena reacted, her irritation palpable. But she saw the determination in Ammi's eyes and realized she had no choice. With a heavy sigh, she joined Ammi for dinner, her mind still swirling with unresolved emotions.

As they began eating dinner, Ammi broke the silence with a seemingly casual question, "Kaisa tha aaj ka din?"

"Bahut bura! Do pal saans lene ki fursat nahi thi. Subah late ho gayi thi, toh jaldi mein jaane ke chakkar mein humara phone bhi gir gaya aur damage ho gaya," Haseena replied, her frustration evident in her voice.

"Accha! Tabhi phone not reachable tha," Ammi responded, understanding dawning on her face. Haseena nodded with a noncommittal "hmm" as they continued eating in silence, the clinking of utensils the only sound between them.

Suddenly, a thought struck Haseena, breaking the quiet. "Ammi, kal subah humari 5 baje Delhi ki flight hai. Office ka kuch kaam hai toh jana hoga."

"Kya? Aur ye tu hume ab bata rahi hai??" Ammi's voice rose in the overdramatic fashion typical of all Indian parents, her eyes widening in shock.

"Hume bhi aaj hi pata chala hai," Haseena replied calmly. "Jo jaane wali thi uski kuch family emergency aagai aur MIRA ke launch se pehle kuch important documentation bhi karne hai, toh hume jana hoga."

Ammi's expression softened slightly, though her worry was still evident. "Thik hai, ye rakh ke aate hai hoon aur tumhari packing karke dete hai," she said, collecting the dinner dishes.
