a day had passed by, felix sleeping in the same room as his grandmother. her monitor beeping in the same rhythm it has.

sujin placed her hand on felix's grandmother's hand and whispered, "please, please don't leave yet. he still needs you."

the australian's grandmother had been unconscious but she was still breathing on her own.

sujin was trying her best not to cry and caressed the elder's knuckles, sniffling. there was a time where sujin and felix were talking while felix's grandmother was taking her afternoon nap and talked about how they would feel if she didn't wake up.

she deeply remembers that he wouldn't want to be in the world without his grandmother, and how she was the only one that made life less miserable. all her thoughts were about how the australian boy wouldn't want to be alone, how he would want to be with his grandmother. it made her cry more than she would have expected. while wiping her tears away, she heard the door click open.

"hi sujin." she turned around, softly smiling.

"hello felix."

felix had just got back from getting two cups of coffee for him and sujin. he handed one over to her, "how is she?"

the coffee was straight up black, no sweetener or anything. and that's how sujin and felix liked their coffee. she had taken the cup and took a sip, replying. "they said she's holding on. but they don't know how much longer."

felix nodded, taking a sip from his cup and sitting on the chair next to his grandmother across from sujin.

"sujin." he mumbled, enough so she could hear him.

"honestly, i'm really scared. i wouldn't know what to do, where i'd go, or even how i'd go without her. everything lately has been too much. and i'm just about ready to be done with everything. i'll have no reason to stay."

sujin opened her mouth to say something but felix quickly caught on and stopped her.

"look, i know i have my friends. but it wouldn't be the same without her here. she was and is the reason as to why i'm still here. walking on this planet. i wouldn't really know how to handle her death. my father isn't even here with me to be right by her side. it's as if i don't exist to my father. if it weren't for mimi, i'd be with my mom and sister. my father never really cared after they passed."

sujin just looked at him, listening to what he has to say. because she didn't know what to do or how to comfort him. but one thing she knew that he didn't, is that his father would call every month to check up on miyeon and felix.

sujin was wondering if she should bring up the fact that his father still cares. all the phone calls she had with his father, she would inform him that he was doing better than before. or anything that changed.

sujin and her coworkers knew about it since they'd be the ones picking up the landlines at the lee's residence. and felix's father informed them not to let miyeon or felix know about the fact that he calls. but one thing sujin did was inform felix's father that miyeon was sent to the hospital and that she didn't have much time.

"hi minhee. i'm here at the airport. i know this is unexpected. but can you drop me off to the hospital?"

minhee already in her car, "yeah. i can come over. just meet me over in the front. i'll be there in about fifteen."

minhee, miyeon's nurse, was at the grocery store getting some fruit cups, ice and a couple groceries. the traffic wasn't as bad as it usually gets around noon. she had called seoyeon since sujin was already at the hospital with felix.

seoyeon and minhee were in the car together since sujin wanted to stay at the hospital instead of following to get some food. the two knew how attached sujin was to miyeon considering sujin went through something as similar as what felix's is going through.

"minhee, i know what you and sujin planned. and i may or may not have spilled it to miyeon..." seoyeon said as she fiddled with her thumbs, looking at her feet.

minhee let out a soft chuckle, "i know, miyeon has talked to him recently because she caught me on the phone with him. thats why she is holding on for her grandson's dad to come see her. or at least that's what i think."

seoyeon sighed in relief, wiping the tears she shed,

the two had made it to the front of the airport, stopping at the curbside pick up and exited the car after minhee pressed the button for the back to open.

"thank you for coming." minhee said, taking luggage and putting them in her trunk.

hyunjin and jeongin were walking back to the school campus, drinking from their bobas.

"how's it going with felix and changbin?" jeongin asked curiously but not to torment him about it.

hyunjin looked up, keeping his strides like jeongin's. "from what i heard from changbin and chan, felix isn't doing great, he's pushing the both of them away. and i know it's hard to deal with that. it's not like he's doing it on purpose, but like a defense mechanism."

jeongin knew that the boy in front of him knew felix more than anyone in their friend group. he knew that whatever felix can get through is with him and only him.

hyunjin was stuck in his mind, thinking of the boy he still loves. all the thoughts of him just leaving the country or even just leaving in general scared him the most. he wishes the most to be there for the australian.

"have you checked in on him at the hospital?" jeongin asked, looking up at hyunjin.

"i haven't yet. give it a day or so." he replied.
