Kylie has been going back to school steadily but all while she puts on a brave face I can tell shes still scared but just try to be normal and as the school close for two day holiday I decided to take the opportunity to teach her how to defend her as in my line of work I cant promise I will always be there to protect her, as we drove towards the warehouse, I could sense Kylie's curiosity growing. She had been quiet ever since I mentioned that we were going somewhere, and I could tell that she was trying to piece together the puzzle in her mind.

When we arrived, she looked around, her eyes narrowing as she took in her surroundings. "D'Angelo, why are we here? What's going on?"

I hesitated, knowing that the truth might unsettle her. But I also knew that I couldn't keep her in the dark any longer. "Kylie, there's something I need to tell you."

Her gaze snapped to mine, her expression wary. "What is it?"

I took a deep breath, gathering my thoughts. "You know that I'm involved in certain... activities. Things that are dangerous."

She nodded, her eyes never leaving mine. "Yes, I know. You're in the mafia."

I nodded, relieved that she had guessed correctly. "Yes, that's right. And the reason I brought you here today is because... I want to teach you how to defend yourself."

Her eyes widened in surprise, and I could see the questions forming in her mind. "Defend myself? Why would I need to do that?"

I sighed, knowing that this was going to be difficult to explain. "Kylie, I know that you've been through a lot. And I want to make sure that you're prepared for anything. I would never forgive myself if something happened to you and I hadn't done everything in my power to protect you."

She studied my face for a long moment, her expression unreadable. Then, slowly, she nodded. "Okay, I'll do it. I'll learn how to defend myself."

With that settled, I turned to Finneas, who had been waiting nearby. "Finneas, I need you to help Kylie with the training today. Show her everything you know, but be gentle."

He nodded, a serious expression crossing his face. "I got it, boss. She'll be in good hands."

As Finneas led Kylie through the exercises, I watched from the sidelines, a mixture of pride and anxiety swelling in my chest. I knew that this was just the beginning of Kylie's journey, but I was determined to do everything in my power to keep her safe, no matter what it took.

As Finneas began demonstrating some basic self-defense moves to Kylie, she couldn't help but feel a surge of nervous energy coursing through her veins. She glanced at him, noting the easy confidence in his stance and the glint of mischief in his eyes.

"So, Kylie, ever been in a fight before?" Finneas asked, his voice laced with a playful tone.

Kylie chuckled nervously, shaking her head. "Nope, can't say that I have. But I guess there's a first time for everything, right?"
