Before my very eyes, Shemar grew in the past year. Its like we went to bed and he was bigger. He was quite tall for his age.
He turned two and I decided I wanted to make it special since he was with me and from all I know his mother was not communicating with us to check in on his development.
His birthday approached and I asked his dad for some money to get his party going which he gave me because he spared no expense when it came to his son, that I wasn't going to take from him.
I didn't call his mother neither did she call to wish him happy birthday.
I didn't care anyways. My baby boy was good either way.
I bought him a black long sleeved T-shirt with a sweet purple ripped jeans. Baby boy had on a fresh purple, black and white Jordans with a purple Lakers snapback. I didn't bother to style his hair but I defined his curls with some mousse and put on his jewelry.
He was fly.
We invited all his little cousins, from his father's brother.
Our neighbors' kids were also invited.
We bought him gifts of toys and other stuff.
There were party favors to hand out which were gender specific. Barbie branded bags for the girls with toys and make up kits inside and PJ Mask for the boys with trucks and cars inside.
Shem got a Paw patrol cake with a picture of Marshall and his name carved in blue. We had prepared hotdogs and got pizza, ice cream and lots of drinks.
We even had a Paw patrol bouncer. The kids had a blast.
Olivia and Kelsey came early and she helped us to decorate.
He enjoyed his birthday. I could tell from the laughter and screams of joy as he played and danced with the other children.
By the end if the night he was so tired I could hardly get him to stay awake while I brushed his teeth.
This was Friday night , it was also Valentines night so Daddy and I had our own little fun after all the guests had gone home and Shem was tucked away sleeping.
I was really beat and we slept soundly till morning.
I wasn't sure what time this was , but I knew his phone rang and he groaned and answered.
"Hello?"
He sat up quickly speaking into the phone.
"Wa the fuck yuh mean by?"I sat up too eyes wide, heart beating with concern, he sounded angry.
"What happened babes?" I whispered.
Gently touching his shoulder.
He shrugged me off and got up off the bed.
