Oh my God!
Was I dreaming or was I dreaming ?
This man really bow as an apology? No sah
I called my friend Olivia because this news was too exciting to be kept a secret.
He had gone to work and I was still in bed, little man was still asleep so I had time to bask.
"My Gee wa gwaan?" , Olivia answered on the second ring, "A must sumn mek u a call so early enuh."
Olivia was my best friend from college. As a country girl, I was lost in the big city.
She was a born Kingstonian, born and raised in Franklin Town, Eastern Kingston. A volatile community that knew no peace, she once told me that this was her way out of the hell, school.
From the very first day she ensured she was by my side we have been together since. Siamese twins they used to call us back in the day because where you saw one the other was sure to follow.
" Giiiirrrrl, yuh no know say we need fi link up! When u can come up yah?" I asked excitedly.
"No this serious! A wapmn bitch, yaah breed?", she squealed.
"No fool when you breed me breed, and you naah breed!"
" Saturday mi free we can chillz.....dat good?"
"Yeah bee Saturday good!"
"Aigght bestie, I gotta get ready for work caz due to how I am not no pretty housewife" she teased me. Olivia always called me that.
"Bitch, bye! Saturday." I laughed and disconnected the call.
"Mammy" came Shemar's sweet baby voice calling for me.
Guess it's time for me to start my day.
"Coming baby!" I called back and he laughed heartily. Sweet gurgling baby laughter, music to this house.
What did I say that was so funny?
I rolled out of bed and got myself together.
My mother still was not talking to me, she refused to answer any of my calls and I left it at that. She will come around, its not like she can do without her only child for long.
Things were good for a bit. We were a typical little nuclear family, enjoying each other's company. Of course I was still salty about the situation but being with this baby each day took the edge off.
Bubbla still didn't call, I guess she was ok leaving her only child with a complete stranger without feeling any sort of guilt.Well we were happy, we were ok and we were well........or so I thought.
Saturday came around fast. I woke up early so I could get the baby ready for his day and then to start cooking for when Olivia came we could sit and talk like real moms.
She was taking her daughter so the kids could play while we chatted.......nice.She thought she was just taking her to see her God mama but this was really my first play date.
She still didn't know about Shem yet.
Jay was home for the most part of the morning and I was glad because he helped out with the baby while I made breakfast .
"Babes what you cooking?" He walked into the kitchen slapping my ass playfully.
I jumped as the slap connected. It stung a bit but I didn't like that ass play and he knew that.
"Likkle boy gwaan no!" I hollered, caught off guard.
