"Baby make sure you don't forget to bring the drinks" Jackie said walking downstairs. "I won't- damn ma you look good as hell" I said pausing mid sentence. "Don't hype me up to much it's just something simple, plus were wearing the same thing" she said waving me off. I walked around her in a circle looking her up and down, "I don't care none bout that you out doing me if anything" I said spinning her around. "Your to smooth baby but you look really good to" she said smoothing out my flannel. "Oh really?" I asked seductively, "mhm... Looking a little to good to be out the house" she said biting her lip. "Good thing we ain't gotta leave then" I said grabbing her by her neck and connecting our lips.
"Mmm as much as I would love that right now, we gotta go cause I can't stand being late" she said pecking my lips and pulling away. "Ughhh fine whatever" I exaggerated, "you know your sister would be blowing your phone up if we were just 2 minutes late" she said making me nod. "Yeah I guess you got a point there, now c'mon before she really does blow up my phone" I said grabbing the sodas.

"Hey ya'll glad you both could make it! All of my side of the family is here, but don't worry their all nice for the most part" Tyler said greeting us. "That's wassup, uh where do you want me to put these at?" I asked holding up the boxes. "You can just go put em in the coolers on the floor in the kitchen" he said making me nod. "Ahhh is that my baby and my soon to be daughter in law?!" my mom said coming over and giving us hugs. "Hey ma how are you?" I asked chuckling returning the hug. "I'm good how are you guys?" she asked with a smile, "were good definitely ready to eat though" Jackie said making us all laugh. "Girl ain't that the truth! Come with me though I wanna introduce you to some people" she said to Jackie.
Jackie looked at me as a way of asking if it's ok, "go ahead baby I'll be in the kitchen" I said giving her a head nod. "Ok I'll come find you later then, I love you" she said giving me a quick kiss, "I love you more" I said walking away to the kitchen. As I was putting the soda's into the iced cooler I heard heels clicking on the floor and a group of voices. "Hey y/nn!" I heard the voice of my sister Rayla, "hi Ray! Damn look at you lil sis with ya drip on" I said giving her a hug and complimenting her outfit. "Thank you just something slight you know" she said posing, "you need to really start thinking about becoming a stylist for real, just hit me up man" I said shrugging. "I already told you I don't know about that I gotta think long and hard about that, I still gotta kid you know" she said making a me nod understanding.

"Speaking of where my baby at?" I asked referring to Remiyah. "She's upstairs playing she wasn't vibing with all these people down here" she said laughing. I'm telling ya'll Miyah is my mini me, I can't do to many people in one area either. "I'll go see her in a little bit then, but who are they" I asked pointing to the two people standing behind her. "Oh these are my cousins Ari and Dae Dae, and yes Dae Dae as in the one from Friday" she said making me laugh under my breath. "What's good ya'll i'm y/n her older sister" I said waving. "Damn you tall as hell, Rayla how you small as hell?" her cousin that I now know as Dae Dae said. "Shut up I blame my mom and dad for being averaged height" she said folding her arms.
"It's ok to be a little shortie sis" I joked making the 3 of us laugh leaving Rayla mad. "It's all jokes twin i'll catch ya'll later though" I said saying my goodbyes. "See you later itty bitty" I said hugging Rayla and kissing her on the forehead. "Shut up y/nn!" she said shoving me as I walked away laughing. I walked upstairs to Remiyah's room seeing her doing exactly what her mom said she was doing. I crept up behind her bending down behind her. "Hi my pretty girl" I whispered making her turn around. "Auntie y/nn!" she yelled hugging me with excitement, "hi mama you look so beautiful!" I said squeezing her gently. "We the same" she said pointing between us both, "yeah we both are kind of matching in a way aren't we" I said smiling.

"Your hair looks so cute ReRe" I said admiring her cute ponytails. "Me cute?" she asked me in her soft voice, "yeah Miyah your so cute girlll!" I said hyping her up as she did her little dance. "You are to much girl but you wanna go see auntie Jack?" I asked her, "yay auntie Jack!" she said clapping her hands. I'ma just take that as a yes, "ok c'mon let's go find auntie Jack" I said waving her to come. She just stood there staring at me not moving at all, "c'mon Miyah" I said trying to get her to come again. "Mmm Mmm" she said shaking her head no, "why?" I asked her confused. She put her hands out making a grabby motion. "Damn man you just like yo mama and yo auntie" I said rolling my eyes and picking her up.
I walked downstairs through the crowd of people all over the house trying to find my girlfriend. I walked outside and seen her talking with my mom and some other ladies. One thing about Jackie is she may be shy but she is definitely very likable and can talk your ear off once she's comfortable. "Sorry to interrupt ladies, she wanted to see you ma" I said handing Miyah over to her. "Hi Remiyah girl, look at you looking all fancy even got your edges nice and laid" she said smiling at the toddler. "Hi auntie Jack what you doing?" the little girl asked playing in her hair. "Nothing what you doing Miyah?" Jackie asked positioning the little girl on her lap. "Me doing nothing" she replied with an unbothered tone making Jackie laugh.
Jackie moved over so I could be able to sit down. "So what ya'll been talking about since i've been with miss boujee over there" I joked. "Well we were just talking about random stuff but I gotta tell you something honey" my mom said. "Ok what is it?" I asked with my eyebrows raised, "well this morning your cousin Nahmere called me out of nowhere wishing me a happy Thanksgiving and he had asked me about you" she said making me surprised. "Wait you mean like nuni Nahmere?" I asked as she nodded. "He was wondering if you were ever going to come and visit him and your other cousins again, he said he's still really close with your best friend from high school" she finished making me remember all the fun moments we had as a group.

"I don't know mom their still surrounded with all that hood and gang stuff I don't know if I wanna be around all of that again" I said unsure. "I get that y/n but you haven't seen them since you left so many years ago, it wouldn't hurt just to pay one little visit their still your family at the end of the day" she said honestly. I sighed heavily contemplating on what I should do. "I-I guess i'll go down there just this one time though because a part of me does miss seeing them" I said giving in. "Good for you honey and just let me know whenever you plan on leaving alright" she said, "Ight mom" I replied. "Aye everyone it's time to eat!" Tyler shouted out to everyone prompting them to get up.
I sat down for a minute still thinking about what I agreed to doing. I haven't been back to see them because I know how life is down there, and I definitely don't miss it. But it will all be good...Right?
