Chapter 17: Birthday's & Dedication

Today was the day before Jackie's 25th birthday. Right now I was on my way to pick up her family from the airport. I had flew them all down here to Vegas for obviously Jackie's birthday but they also wanted to come and see our playoff game. I'm overly excited for that game tomorrow because my match up is going to be against stewie, and I always loved playing against her when I played with the sparks. I just pulled up to the entrance of the airport and I saw momma, uncle Stef, T and Kiare.

I hopped out of the car with a wide smiling greeting them all with hugs and dap ups. "Hey you guys so glad you all landed safely" I said as they all nodded in agreement. "I'm glad we did to, thanks for flying us all out here again though y/nn" Kiare said thanking me. "Oh its no problem I just know you all would've wanted to be here for a big moment like this with Jack" I said casually. "Speaking of where is my niece at anyways" Stef said looking inside my car trying to see if she was in there. "Unc we came here to surprise Jackie she doesn't know were here..." Terrance said face palming himself making us all laugh. "Alright yall come on i'm ready to take me a much needed shower" momma said as they all hummed in agreement. I helped them all load their things into my car and drove them to the hotel.

I helped walk momma and Kiare's luggage up to their hotel room. "Okay so i'll be downstairs waiting for you guys so we can head to the jewelry shop" I said as they both nodded. "Alright just give us about 30 to 40 minutes and we'll be right down with you" momma said as I said ok and walked out giving them privacy. I took the elevator back down to the lobby and went and sat down in the little lounge area they had set up. I scrolled through my phone mostly responding to messages and emails that I needed to answer. As I was doing that I got interrupted from an incoming facetime call from the soon to be birthday girl. 

I answered it propping the phone up so my face was in the camera. "Hey boo where you at?" she asked me a little out of breath with lots of sweat rolling down her forehead as she tried wiping it off with a towel. "I'm just out running some quick errands that I had to get done, how's your work out going?" I asked her. "I uh just got done lifting and getting some shots up so now i'm about to got box for a little bit" she said making me chuckle. "What?" she asked smiling confused, "nothing it's just so funny how you can work out for 3 hours and still want to go for longer, but I ain't mad at it cause it's just making you finer by the day" I said smirking making her roll her eyes. 

"Girl hush working out just brings me peace that's all" she said shaking her head. "Mmm yeah aight, but i'ma let you go so you can get back to your punching of a bag" I said lightly laughing. "Mhm i'll see you at your place later today, I love you baby" she said, "Of course and I love you more beautiful see you soon" I said blowing a kiss to the phone as she did the same right back.

It was about 20 minutes later and momma and Ki came down in more weather appropriate clothes. We were going through a real hot weather month here is Vegas so its been a lot shorts and tank tops but anyways. "You guys look great, ya'll ready to gone and head out now?" I complimented them and asked. "Thank you honey and yes were ready to go now" Linda said as I nodded and lead them out to the car so we could start our drive to buy a promise ring.

We walked into pandora and walked over to their ring and jewelry section. I scanned over some of the rings with some of them catching my eye and some truly drawing my attention. I turned to Ki and momma and asked them "since you both know her the most what type of style of ring do you think she would like the most?". "Well Jacquelyn has always been a simplistic person who loves things with meaning so you can start there" momma said shrugging as I nodded looking back over the rings. After she said that Kiare called us over and showed us a ring that looked perfect. "Look its very simple and you can put the both of you guys name inside of it which is very meaningful" she said pointing through the glass.
