Alone again (Solarballs earth angst)

Idiot

Mars was watching Earth with a worried expression when he was greeted by an annoyed Venus.

"Hey bud-"

"Mars! Get your dumb asteroids in check!" Venus practically screams, cutting his sentence off.

"For the last time, Venus. Phobos and Deimos aren't asteroids, or pebbles, or pieces of dust." Mars sighs while Venus looks irritated that he didn't ask what had happened.

"Alright fine," He grumbles, then waits a few seconds before Mars says "What did they do to piss you off this time?" Venus looks satisfied for a few split second

"The two pieces of cobble were asking me a bunch of questions."He pauses, then looks a little apprehensive "Get them to stay in your own damn orbit!"

"Okay Venus, whatever." Venus did not look happy with his response.

"Look Mars just because you and Earth are still sulking around like some lovesick exes in some romcom doesn't mean you can just forget about them! They. Are. So. ANNOYING!"

Mars pauses at the wording for a second giving Venus a questioning glance.

"You don't have to word it like that you know. Me and Earth aren't on bad terms, it's just... complicated." Mars tries to defend, Venus looks at him skeptically, "Also, don't call them annoying." He says indignantly

"Well if you two idiots aren't on bad terms why don't you just go talk to him then?" Venus says with an amused look.

"N-no, Earth needs some space it's good for him." Neither of them was convinced of this and it was showing on their faces. Mars sat there thinking about it as Venus was muttering about them both being dumb.

" You know what Venus you're right." Mars turns and looks and Venus

"Really? You're actually going to see Earth?" Venus said surprised but in a happier mood.

"What? No, I'm going to look for Phobos and Deimos." Mars floats away not making eye contact "Clearly." He says as if it were obvious.

Venus stands there wide-eyed as Mars just keeps going. Isn't he supposed to be the smart one being next to Jupiter? Idiot. He frowns silently fuming.
