(Proto Earth's P.O.V.)

He's totally not scared. I mean who would be scared of someone who's constantly throwing asteroids at you and is about 1000x your size? Definitely not me. He laughs nervously as he travels towards the asteroid belt.

Just think happy thoughts, like no more worrying about a bunch of fluke asteroids heading towards his 'friends' or maybe actually getting on better terms with some of them (Theia).

He enters the asteroid belt and waits there motionlessly, paralyzed in fear, he has never gone this far before. Sure, he brings a couple into his orbit to throw at the ones that come into the Goldilocks zone, but he had surprisingly never been inside it.

It made him even more scared, the gas giants already gave him nightmares even though he had never come face to face with more, their size wasn't what truly made him scared of them though. It was the mystery around them, the unknown reason why they thought it was okay to throw asteroids at the inner planets. Maybe they're heartless monsters like the others seem to think, perhaps this is all a big mistake that will get him killed.

He hesitates, he doesn't want to die alone in here, he hasn't even made a friend yet, the closest thing to a friendship he had was with Mars and that was really grasping at straws. Whatever, he has to make the first move, no one else has the guts to, that thought didn't make facing him any less daunting.

He exits the asteroid belt to see the biggest gas giant just sitting there. He towered over Proto with his ever-changing surface of swirling whites, oranges, browns, and reds. Proto takes a big gulp and tries to remember what he was here to accomplish.

"H-hi Mr. J-jupiter s-sir." He mustered out, Jupiter sadly did not hear him.

He slowly goes closer trying to get into a better hearing range.

"H-hello Mr. J-jupiter." He says it louder this time. Unexpectantly, for Proto at least, Jupiter turns around to look at him, Proto had never felt so powerless in his life than looking at Jupiter in the eyes.

"Who are you?" He says confused "You look too big to be a moon, but far to small to be a planet." His loud voice filled with interest echoes in Proto's ear making him freeze up in fear.

"Did you hear my question?" He says intimidatingly, the question makes Proto flinch and snap out of his fear.

"I-uh am a planet." He says confused that Jupiter didn't know that "I'm one of the inner planets, we're located near the sun." Jupiter looks even more interested in what he has to say now.

"I didn't know there were planets closer to the Sun than me." Proto freezes, did that mean he didn't know that he had been throwing asteroids at them?

"You didn't know?" Jupiter gives him a judgemental look, like yeah that's what I just said. "So you didn't know you were throwing asteroids at us?" Jupiter pales for a second before regaining his composure.

"Well... not really- I sort of just threw them there because I was bored," Proto sighed in relief "But I did know that there was something in there, I would have never guessed it to be more planets," Proto looked horrified that Jupiter would throw possibly life-ending asteroids into the Goldilocks zone if he knew that something was in the. "small ones at that" Jupiter smiles and laughs at the jab he had just made about the rocky planets, then quickly stops when he sees Proto's expression.

"Sorry uh- small plant?" Jupiter says seeming to forget Proto's name.

"C-can you stop throwing them? It would really help me out." Jupiter thinks for a second, bringing back Proto's original paranoia.

"I guess, but that was the only thing keeping me entertained since S-," He pauses to think again "I could throw them at Saturn instead." His eyes darken in delight at the idea, making Proto wince in disgust.

"Maybe just don't throw asteroids at anyone." Jupiter doesn't seem too happy with that answer though making Proto shrink into himself.

"O-or I could just come and visit you! That seems like fun right!" Jupiter loses a bit of that craziness he had in his eyes trading it for a more welcoming and soft gaze.

"I suppose it would be nice to have someone to talk to again." Jupiter gets a little lost in thought at the aspect of having someone to talk to again. " What with that delusional idiot mad at me." He says clearly trying to reference the other gas giant.

"I'll see you later-uh what's your name again?" Proto starts blushing, embarrassed that he forgot something so pivotal. (NOT A SHIP!)

"I'm Proto." He says this less tense and more happy.

"Well hello little Proto, I'm Jupiter." Proto laughs and they both leave the conversation happier than before.

(Back with Mars)

Mars was a little bit worried about Proto, not that he would ever admit it to him. He hadn't been in or anywhere near his usual orbit around the Sun, maybe he should have talked to Proto after what Theia had said about him, he knew Proto was really sensitive...What is he saying? This isn't his fault, nothing is going to happen to Proto he's his own planet, and he can take care of himself.

Just as he finished thinking about Proto he saw him floating out of the asteroid belt by himself  with an unusually genuine smile on his face. Mars rushes over to see, he hoped his water wouldn't freeze too much because of how far he was going. He tries to put himself back together before talking to Proto.

"What's got you looking so happy?" He asks suspiciously, Proto takes a couple of seconds to think before answering.

"I think I just made my first friend." He says bewildered, Mars raises an eyebrow.

"I thought we were friends?" He says jokingly, Proto blushes sheepishly, opens his mouth and then closes it again. Mars laughs.

"We're...friends? We're friends!" He cries out in excitement.

"Of course, we're friends dingus, you're like the only planet I hang out with." Proto almost crashes into him because of how happy he is, luckily Mars backs up just in time

"Proto, the last thing we need is a collision." He says giving him a smile and a laugh.

I love these two ❤️❤️❤️, also just watched 'The Moon Club', and Mars helping Earth with his axis is so sweet :)
