I was now wanted by the Holy Dragon Alliance.

Great.

Whatever. Kirito is innocent and cute.

Wait, what?!

I shook my head.

No no no. Why do I feel so warm inside?

Everyone in SAO has already been here for almost two years. I was on the verge of turning 16.

In fact, my birthday was tomorrow.

And here I am, running off from an ambush by my former guild members.

Looks like I'll be spending another birthday alone.

I sighed quietly as I lost my pursuers.

I teleported to the 47th floor and admired the scenery.

I headed toward an inn and paid for a room.

As I walked up the stairs slowly, my eyes riveted to the steps below me. I avoided eye contact with anyone as I opened the door.

I went in quickly and slammed the door.

"Life sucks." I whispered, then swiped down my menu. I removed my outfit and landed face first on the bed.

I curled up in the blankets.

"I wish I could just go home." I wished silently as midnight struck.

I heard a knock on the door.

I lifted my head a little.

"Yeah?"

"(G/n)? It's Kirito," I shot up, "I know it's late, but I wanted to know if-"

I opened the door.

"Sure!" I exclaimed.

He stared at me for a few seconds, his cheeks turning red.

"What?"

"S-should I leave you alone to get ready?" he asked rather quickly.

"Huh?" I looked down at myself slowly.

I screeched, covering myself quickly.

"J-jerk!" I exclaimed.

"It's not my fault! You're the one who opened the door like that!"

I shut the door, my face beet red. I swiped my menu down and equipped my clothes, then reopened the door.

I was just lucky that he was the only one who saw me, and I wasn't completely nude.

We were walking for a few minutes when I felt a warm presence in my hand.

I snuck a glance, and saw his hand in mine.

Kirito-kun...

I looked up and saw the restaurant we had gone to the day I killed Asuna.

How could he forgive me for that? I know that he was in love with her.

"(G/n)," Kirito said seriously, "I'm paying this time."

"Kirito-kun, this isn't-"

"Well, I want to."

I grinned.

"Fine, fine."

We went in, and the atmosphere shifted.

I felt like I was being watched. I scanned the place.

There. In the corner. There was a shady looking figure staring at us.

I glared and sat at a table with Kirito.

"(G/n)," he started, "Sorry about earlier."

"It's ok, Kirito-kun." I said, paying attention to the figure.

"I know, (g/n)," he whispered, making me look at him, "We're being watched."

"Should we leave?"

"No. That would be too suspicious."

I ordered something cheap then began to eat it, glancing at the stalker every so often.

"If they move, stay sitting."

I nodded, then thought of an excuse.

"How much was this stuff?"

"Not much compared to what I have."

I nodded and saw movement in the corner of my eye. I normally would have stood up, but I obliged to what Kirito said.

They stopped at our table.

"Ms (g/n)? May I speak with you?"

"Who are you?"

He put three fingers in the air, and my eyes widened.

"Kirito, I'll be back."

"What?"

"This is important."

I stood up and followed the man.

Kirito's POV

I followed them, obviously. Then I listened to parts of the conversation.

"... Don't tell them..."

"... Obviously... Is this right?"

"I don't know. No one can know what we're up to."

What?
