Lost to Darkness (Kirito X Reader)

11. Truth

It's been about a month since then, and Rin still doesn't know anything.

I feel bad for not telling him, though. He needs to know.

So Kirito and I decided to talk to him tonight.

"Rin?"

"Yeah?" he came running out of the bedroom.

"We need to tell you something important. About Asuna."

His eyes did this weird thing where they widened and narrowed at the same time.

"What about her?"

"Well-"

"I already know. You're the one who killed her, (g/n)." he said lightly, making me gasp.

"How-"

"I was tracking her. She was with Kirito, then she was attacked by you. It was an accident, right?" he smiled sadly, "But you waited an entire month to tell me."

"Rin, I'm-" I started, but then Kirito stood up from his spot next to me and walked over to Rin.

"Rin. You have every right to be mad at her. And me. (G/n) killed her, and I failed to protect her."

I shot up, then walked away quickly.

Rin's POV

I watched (g/n) leave, then looked up at Kirito.

"Can we-" I hesitated, "Can we all meet up in the real world and be a family?!"

He looked surprised, making me think he was rejecting me.

"Ok. I get it. I just thought that I was like the son around here," I muttered shyly, "You guys feel like my parents... I might be Asuna's little brother, but I live with my aunt who hates me. I was lucky to be able to get the game to get away from her. My parents had to give me to my aunt or she would've tried to kill me and Asuna."

Then, Kirito threw me over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes.

"H-hey?!"

"Let's go find your 'mom'." he chuckled.

I felt a huge grin split across my face.

"R-r-really?!"

"Yeah."

We went outside to find (g/n) crying.

My grin faded quickly as Kirito put me down.

"Hey, (g/n)?" Kirito tried to soothe her, rubbing her back gently, "Mom?"

She froze and looked at him with confusion lacing over her (e/c) eyes.

Then I couldn't resist; I leaped up into her arms.

"Wh-what?!" she exclaimed, obviously dumbfounded.

I explained my story again, making her hold me tighter.

"Oh my god. I'm so sorry, Rin. And I took Asuna away from you."

"I have you guys!" I said with a toothy grin, making her giggle.

"(G/n)." Kirito nudged her with his elbow, urgency in his tone.

She looked up and noticed she had a message.

"It's from Heathcliff?"

(G/n). You know who I am, correct? Tomorrow will be the day the game is beaten.

In sync, Kirito and I stared at (g/n), the question obvious in our eyes.

She swallowed.

"Heathcliff is..."

Me: its a reference to you.
Rin: hell yeah.
???: am I in the right room?
Rin: who is that?
Me: Kaneki! Kaneki Ken! From Tokyo Ghoul!
Kaneki: ...
Me: yep! I plan on writing a Kaneki X Reader!
Kaneki: what's an X Reader?
Rin: we all got dragged into it. *motions to Kirito, Edward, Eren, Natsu, and Zero*
Kaneki: joy. But you didn't answer my question.
Me: whoever is reading, Reader-chan over there, falls in love with whoever else is in the title thingy, you. In this case, it's Kirito.
Kirito: *waves*
Kaneki: *puts on mask and sits quietly* what the hell did I get myself into?
Ed: welcome to the club. She's crazy.
Me: *throws metal pole at Ed's head*
Kaneki: it's another damn Touka-chan.
