When they arrived in their common room, all the students who were already there exploded with chattering. They all bombarded Cassie with questions about Harry, and Cassie had no idea how to answer any of them since she herself had no idea what had just happened. But no one would listen to this.
Eventually, Cassandra got sick of all the questions and just decided to wait in the library until she, Draco and Theo had their detention. Blaise had managed to worm his way out of punishment because he had bolted before they were caught.
Draco quickly followed her up the stairs and caught up with her. He put his hand on her back to stop her and she jumped horribly, causing Draco to frown, but he said nothing on the matter.
"You okay?" He asked her, looking concerned. She brushed him off and tried walking away, but he grabbed her hand and dragged her into the library.
"Stop avoiding me, Cass. Please, just-" He broke off, looking around, apparently searching for words. But she beat him to it.
"We don't have to talk about it. It's fine, just go back to the common room Draco." She told him and tried to leave again, but he cornered her against the bookshelf and put his hands on either side of her head.
"Yeah well I need to, alright? I can't stop thinking about it." He said, licking his lips. Noticing her discomfort, he removed his hands and she looked at him.
"What's up with you anyway? All year you've been jumpy and scared of everything. Every time I touch you unexpectedly you flinch, are you scared of me or something?" He asked her pointedly, not understanding a thing. She quickly shook her head, trying to fight back the tears that pooled in her eyes.
She crossed her arms over her chest, pondering on it. She wanted to tell him. She really did. But she didn't even know if he would believe her, and she hadn't ever told anyone. Draco interrupted her thoughts by speaking another question she didn't know how to answer.
