Unexpected Pairing

Derek kept paging Meredith, he was consistent with it and he wasn't stopping any time soon. Meredith and Addison were still in the on-call-room and Meredith was too scared to leave Addison's side.

"Mer? Love?"

"Mhmm." Meredith hummed looking up at Addison.

"How about we go home,yeah? We will talk to Richard about this and leave."

"Otay."

Meredith and Addison left the room and went up to Richard's office. They walked in, with Meredith hiding behind Addison, and Addison explained everything to Richard. She also explained how Derek kept constantly paging Meredith after.

"He did what now?" Richard shouted.

"Yeah, well-" Addison started but was cut off by Richard.

"I heard you the first time, Addison." Richard was filled with fury. "You guys can take the rest of the day off. I'll have a talk with Derek."

Addison and Meredith said their quick 'thank yous' and left his office. They first went to Meredith locker and then Addison's. As Addison was picking her bag up, she remembered what she had in her bag. She was going to tell and give it to Meredith,but she didn't know how. They walked out the hospital and toward the car and got it.

"Meredith...about the pacifier earlier. I'm sorry I gave it to you without asking, but it was the only way you would calm down."

"It otay, mommy. I happy chu gabe me da paci."

"You welcome, princess. Let's get you in the back so we can go home, okay?"

"Otay." Meredith smiled towards Addison, not throwing a fit.

Addison got out and went over and unbuckled Meredith and buckled her in the back all while Meredith held on to her paci. Addison got back in and drove home. On the way to the house, Meredith wanted to use her paci again. Eventually gave up on waiting and she leaned her head on the window and popped it in her mouth. The paci was really calming to her and she couldn't be more grateful it.

"Okay, we're here, princess." Addison said, getting out the car and going to Meredith. "Okay, princess. Let's go in, and get comfy."

The rest of the day was spent in Meredith room. Partially it was them avoiding her roommates and because Meredith spent all that time in little space. Addison was surprised because Meredith was surprisingly acting younger than she has ever before.

Throughout the afternoon they watch a bunch of movies, ate pizza, Meredith played games on Addison's phone while she watched. Their afternoon was calm over all. Addison just wanted Meredith to relax and forget about what happened earlier for a while.
