27th June 2019, part three...
Jay was at the funeral parlour with the police and on the phone...
Jay: "I know. I thought it'd be done by now. It's taking forever."
Ruby: "No, it's fine. Ben's here, keeping me company. Just get here when you can."
Billy walked over, putting another bottle down on the table.
"Nice to see you spending time with Lola and Lexi before they leave." Billy whispered, staring at Ben and walking away.
Ruby: "Yeah. Okay."
Ben grabbed the bottle and a glass, Ruby hung up the phone.
"Uh, I hope you're paying for that. Don't just assume it's all on me." Ruby said.
"It's not like you're short of a few quid, is it?" Ben asked, pouring her a glass.
"Oh, don't you start." Ruby mumbled.
Ben chuckled.
"Cheers." Said Ben.
Ruby and Ben clinked glasses.
"Don't take this the wrong way, but I would never put you two together. I mean, you used to go out with Sean Slater, didn't you?" Ben asked.
"Yeah, when I was too young to know any better. It was a disaster."

"Yeah, I mean, they are complete opposites, aren't they? I mean, don't get me wrong, I love Jay to bits, but working with all them stiffs is rubbing off on him. I mean, he is a bit of a fun sponge." Ben tells Ruby.
Ruby chuckled.
"It's true, though, isn't it? Jay's idea of living life on the edge is putting a chilli on a pizza."

"I mean, I did catch him reading a fishing magazine last week." Said Ruby.
"No." Ben said, looking mortified.
"Yeah." Ruby mumbled, laughing softly.
"Oh, my God." Ben whispered, turning his head away from Ruby.
"Look, I know Jay's not the most exciting bloke in the world and... and, yeah, a few years ago, I wouldn't look twice at him, but he's good for me. You know there's no surprise." Ruby tells Ben.
Ben laughed.
"No. That sounds awful. I don't mean it like that. I had too many of these." Ruby murmured, motioning to the champagne.
