The 7 Sins: WRATH

A tempest of fury, rage unleashed,
Reason and compassion, both cruelly bereaved.
Lashing out in blind, destructive display,
Relationships sundered, bridges burned away.

The heart consumed by fire, logic cast aside,
As wrath's corrosive tempest sweeps away all in its tide.
Restraint and understanding are drowned in the storm,
Leaving only devastation in its monstrous form.

In the throes of this tempestuous, uncontrolled outburst,
The self becomes unrecognizable, by reason's light cursed.
Discernment fades, as the mind is consumed by the blaze,
Leaving only the wreckage of words and actions ablaze.

The soul's true light is dimmed by the shadows of rage,
As empathy and kindness are relegated to the past's faded page.
Bridges of connection are sundered, relationships torn asunder,
In the wake of wrath's unforgiving, thunderous plunder.

Yet, within the eye of this emotional storm,
A glimmer of clarity may still dimly form -
The realization that the true enemy lies not without,
But the unmastered passions that the heart cannot yet rout.

For in the end, the path of wrath leads to a barren land,
Where the self is isolated, its relationships left to disband.
True strength lies not in the uncontrolled release of fury's might,
But in the mastery of emotion, the triumph of reason's light.
