sitting next to the hospital bed staring at arielle peacefully sleeping i felt the corners of my lips raise slightly
i shook my head taking my eyes off and placing them on the monitor beside her which beeped every couple seconds
visions of the 2 days following this moment flashed in my mind every time i would close my eyes
from seeing her body limp, hearing her pleas and cries. my mind was everywhere but where it should be
even worse today was our first game and i haven't been able to sleep or even gather a thought of basketball, it just kept leading right back to her
all i wanted in this moment was to see her awake so i could talk to her but she was in pain and exhausted i knew she needed this sleep
as i continued to stare at her i heard a knock dragging me from my thoughts as i placed my eyes on the door
soon after a body walked in, as i locked eyes i saw it was nelson who wore a slight smile on his face
"hey cam said it's time to go we have to get ready for the game. you good?" he said staring at me as i kept my eyes on arielle, i just hummed in response
grabbing her hand bringing to my mouth i mumbled something nobody needed to hear but me

groaning as i stared at the food sitting in front of me i stirred my spoon around in the yogurt scooping up a glob
staring at it again sitting on the spoon i dropped it back down onto the plate leaning back
the nurses had tried to get me eat for hours now but i just couldn't bring myself to, my appetite was nonexistent
i really just wanted to be out of here and back home or anywhere for that fact, i hated hospitals
