"Every corner of my world has traces of him, reminders of what was and what will never be."

Kieran,

I found your hoodie in my cupboard today, tucked away where I keep my clothes. It took me back to that cold day after the rain when we decided to take a walk down the lane. I remember how thoughtful it was of you to lend it to me when I was shivering. You insisted I keep it, even though I tried to give it back. I secretly wanted to keep it, to have a piece of you with me.

Holding it now, I can still smell you on it. It's like you're here with me, even though you're so far away. I can't help but wonder if you have anything of mine that still carries my scent. You once said you liked how I smelled. What changed, Kieran? How did we go from being so close to this empty distance?

It hurts so much to think that you might have forgotten about me. That the memories we made could fade away so easily for you. I’m here, holding on to every bit of you I can, while you seem to have moved on without a second thought.

I miss you more than I can put into words. I miss us. I miss the way we were.

Maeve
