Chapter 2: New Friendship

"Ikaw ba ung sister ni Kyro?"

"Yes. Kala ko di mo na 'ko naaalala," Meg answered. Likot ng mata nila parehas. They kept glancing at the water in front of them tapos titingin ulit sa mata ng isa't isa.

Di ako makatingin nang maayos sa kanya. Nakakalula mga mata niya, Aliya thought.

Matutunaw ata ako, Lord! Megan panicked inside.

"Kanina ko pa nga iniisip saan kita nakita before, ate Meg eh."

"Hala. Wag ka na mag-ate kahit mas matanda ako sa 'yo. Mas nafifeel ko tuloy edad ko."

"Ilang taon ka na ba?" Aliya asked.

"You guess."

"Mas matanda ka kay Kyro so... 26?"

"Thanks. Pero higher po banker," Meg said, making Aliya laugh.

"Weh?"

"Oo nga! Matanda na 'ko!"

"Hindi halata. Mukha pa 'kong matanda sa 'yo eh," Aliya said.

"Hindi 'no! Ilang taon ka na ba? 23?"

Aliya nodded.

"Mag 29 na 'ko sa November," Meg told her.

"Hindi halata! Grabe! Ano ba skincare mo? Share mo sa 'kin ah!"

Meg just laughed and then said, "Sure."

"Mag-isa ka lang dito sa Coron? Or dito lang sa tour?" Aliya asked as she was really curious.

"Solo travel. Ikaw ba?"

"Same."

"I figured. Kaya nga ayaw ko sana makipagkwentuhan sa 'yo masyado, baka kasi mas gusto mo nang tahimik," Meg revealed her reason why she was quiet.

"Hindi 'no. Kanina pa nga kita gustong tanungin. Ikaw ba ate—este Meg? Mas gusto mo ba ng alone time? Baka kasi dinadaldal na kita masyado," Aliya said, and then chuckled.

Meg laughed too.

"Masaya kaya makameet ng bagong tao pag nagtatravel."

"Agree ako dyan," the idol said.

The redhead removed her feet from the water, then got a towel to dry them before putting her shoes on, and Aliya did the same.

"Punta ako dun sa wooden bridge. Ikaw?" Meg asked the idol.

"Sama ako."

Parang bata. Ang cute, Meg told herself, smiling as she watched Aliya stand up.

Silence enveloped them as they walked towards the bridge. Aliya just kept stealing glances at the person to her right.

When they reached the wooden bridge, they paused in the middle. Napalingon ulit si Aliya kay Meg, who was watching the ocean behind the lake. The redhead looked at Aliya too, making the idol blush.

Hala, nahuli akong nakatingin, Aliya panicked inside.

"Yes?" Meg asked. "May dumi ba sa mukha ko?"

"Wala. Natatawa lang ako, halos same tayo ng suot," Aliya said as an alibi.

"Napansin ko nga agad kanina habang naghihintay sa labas ng hotel eh."

They stayed there for another 30 minutes before Jerry called them. Meg was trying to be as reserved as possible para di mahalata na super fan siya.
