I long for the day your name is but a blurry memory

When the aches of my soul, I no longer carry

Maybe tomorrow, I'll forget your face

Maybe tomorrow, in my life you won't have a place

But today, let me reminisce

Today, let me reimagine your kiss

As I bask in the trails of our past

Devoured by memories that last

I pray that this is just a nightmare

A joke, a prank, a really good dare

Yet reality bites with a cruel sting

Where your name constantly rings

But until the dawn of forgetting you

I'll cherish the moments, though they're few

So tonight, let me hold on to the pain

To the love that courses through my veins

For tomorrow, I'll strive to set you free

But today, let me be lost in what we used to be.
