CHAPTER XXVIII

MONDAY
————————————————————
I WOKE UP ALONE FOR THE FIRST TIME IN A WHILE, it felt weird to not have Satoru next to me in the mornings.
I sat up in the bed and took notice of my surroundings, I was in his bed, in his room, and in his house. The room looked tidy, the clothes scattered from last night were no longer on the floor and the blinds were open.
I yawned got out of bed slipped on the robe that I usually wear and fixed the bed before leaving the room and entering the lounge.
"Morning, baby." Satoru peeked his head from the kitchen and walked out to greet me with a hug and a kiss on my forehead.
"I was wondering where you were." I chuckled and followed him back to the kitchen and sat on a stool by the counter.
"I've been making us coffee and getting breakfast sorted for Megumi." he poured hot water into the coffee plunger.
"I have to work today, what do you have to do?" I asked him.
"I have to go into the office today, you should come with me." he smiled.
"Wow, Satoru is going to do work?" I laughed at him.
"You're cheeky. But yeah, I'm going to be in my office. You can sit with me if you'd like?" he looked away with a smile just as cheeky as my previous words.
"If there's only one computer, how are we both meant to get work done?" I raised a confused brow.
"You can use my laptop, and you can still sit at my desk with me. But we don't have to work...we'll be alone anyway..." he pouted, insinuating something definitely not safe for work.
"Morning, Y/n," Megumi spoke up as he left his room and I smiled at his greeting.
"Morning, Megumi. Are you leaving for school now?" I watched as he dropped his bag on the floor by the counter.
"Yeah, I can't wait to go to Malaysia so that I don't need to go to school." he groaned and sat on the stool next to me, waiting to be served breakfast.
"It's going to be very fun I can imagine." I thought about the impending trip ahead of us.
"And what are you guys doing today?" Megumi asked us.
"Working. But Nanami, his fiancé and Suguru are coming this evening for drinks." Satoru slid a plate with breakfast on it.
"Is Suguru bringing his girlfriend?" Megumi grimaced.
"He will probably have to, seeing that she got mad last time." Satoru giggled.
"I must say that I prefer Nanami's fiancé over Victoria." Megumi rolled his eyes.
"I have to get Victoria to like me for the wedding, otherwise it will be a shit show." I worried about the possible drama it could cause.
"Don't even bother. She's not going to be a part of your life for much longer." Satoru shook it off as if it were nothing.
After Megumi went to school and we had our coffee, we both began getting ready to go to the office for the day.
Satoru and I showered together, however he left first to let me take my time and finish up.
Once out of the shower, he sat on his bed buttoning his shirt and putting on his shoes while I was still searching for my work clothes.
"They're on the bed." he patted next to him and pointed to my work uniform folded neatly for me.
"Thank you, handsome." I smiled and got dressed.
After getting dressed, I sat in front of the dresser and fixed myself up while Satoru put his watch on and applied cologne.
Both of us left the penthouse with our coats on and drove to work in Satoru's Mercedes.
After a short drive, he parked in VIP, like he usually does, and we both made our way through the building and into the main offices.
We took the elevator up to where I used to spend most of my days, and we were greeted by Nanami at the entrance.
We chatted for a short while and when I had the spare moment, I slipped away and found my old desk.
Suguru was busy concentrating on something on his computer so I slid into my cubicle and into my chair, imitating how I used to sit when I worked here every day.
"Y/n?" Suguru let out a laugh once he noticed my company.
"It feels weird to be here again." I laughed with him, taking in my surroundings as we carried on.
"Well of course, you're sleeping with your boss." he nudged me and I felt my heart drop.
"Don't say that so loud! People will hear. Imagine if Deborah heard that." I nudged him and thought of the absolute fuckup it would be if the queen of office gossip got her hands on such information.
"Oh, she'd run her mouth. Luckily she's not here today." Suguru reassured me and I let out a sigh of relief.
"I hear you and Victoria are coming for drinks tonight," I mentioned to him even though there was a sense of nervousness deep in my stomach.
"Unfortunately she has to come with." Suguru rolled his eyes and crossed his arms out of frustration.
"I just want her to like me." I frowned and stared at my office skirt.
"Don't bother." Suguru brushed it off.
"Alright." I nodded in response.
"Why are you here anyway?" he asked me and I realised I hadn't given him an explanation.
"Satoru needed to come in, I'm going to be in his office with him," I explained to him.
"Don't get up to no good." Suguru grinned, giving me a teasing push.
"He implied something like that at breakfast today." I wore a cheeky smile on my face.
"Beautiful topic for the breakfast table." he sounded amused and leaned back in his office chair.
"Isn't it? Don't judge until you've tried it." a familiar white-haired man leaned against the cubicle door.
"I fucking wish." Suguru sighed with a wistful expression.
"I'm right here." I looked at both men, repulsed at their words.
"You're part of the conversation." Satoru held my shoulder.
I DO NOT WANT TO BE PART OF THIS CONVERSATION.
