Chapter 14

Alli's POV

It's been a few days since the events of what happened at the barn and to say everything is different from before is not an understatement. I was by my dad trying to help him think of a way to talk Hershel into not letting us get kicked off the farm, "It's going to be okay dad you'll think of something you always do." I said.

He looked at me, "I say we kick Shane out." Beau said walking by. "No we're not doing that, anything but that." Dad said. "Rick he's a liability he's the big reason Hershel might kick us off." Dad looked at me, "He hasn't been the same in a long time dad." I said. "So what are we suppose to do?" He asked. "I don't know but we need to keep a close eye on him." I said. "Okay." Dad said then walked off.

Beau looked at me as I looked over at Shane a man who I used to look up to, "You don't want him here do you?" Beau asked. "Not really but dad will figure it out eventually." I said. Beau kissed my head when Glenn sat next to me letting out a loud sigh, "What's wrong pizza boy?" Beau asked. "I am just sad I might be leaving Maggie." Glenn said. "Why would you have to leave if anyone is staying for sure it's you." I told him. "Yeah right." "If she offers you should." Beau said. "What about you guys who's suppose to be the third wheel on runs?" Glenn asked. "We have Carl when he's older." I joked. The three of us laughed.

"She likes you a lot Glenn you should stay." I said. Glenn looked at us then gave me a hug, "Hey we don't know tho for sure maybe my dad will be able to talk Hershel into letting us stay." I said. "Yeah." He said and looked at Beau the two doing a bro hug. He motioned towards Maggie which he rushed off to, "He is such an idiot if he doesn't go with that girl." Beau said.

I looked at him when there was a crash which we rushed into the house to see Beth passed out. "Beth hey." I said snapping my fingers in front of her eyes as they were opened. "What happened?" Maggie panicked. "We don't know." Beau said. I put two fingers to her neck, "Her heart rate is really high. She's in shock from everything happening." I said looking at Maggie. "How do you know that?" Glenn asked. "She went to a smarty pants school." Beau said. I sent my boyfriend a look, "Carry her to her room." I said.

Beau picked Beth up and carried her to her room, "Where's Hershel?" Mom asked. "We can't find him anywhere." Glenn informed us. Mom ran out to get dad, "Can you show me to your parents room?" I asked Maggie. She nodded when dad came up the stairs too following. We looked through his room, "Stepmother's things?" Dad asked looking around with me as Shane stood outside. "He was sure she'd recover." Maggie said with a bit of sadness in her voice. "Pick up where they left off." I sent Shane a look to make him shut up.

I went to the dresser and saw a hip flask then shook it, "Looks like he found an old friend." I said to everyone. I tossed it to dad, "That belonged to my grandfather." Maggie informed us. "Gave it to dad when he died." She stated. "I didn't take Hershel for a drinker." Dad said. "No he gave it up the day I was born. He didn't even allow liquor in the house." Maggie said. "Is there a bar in town?" Beau asked. "Yeah Hatlands practically lived there back in his drinking days." Maggie stated. "If he relapsed he went there." "How do you know?" "My pop and brother were heavy alcoholics and addicts." "Dixon's right." Shane said. "We'll find him there." Rick said.

"I'll take you I've seen the place when Maggie and I would go on runs." Glenn said. I smirked over at my best friend who sent me a look, "I'll go too you might need backup." Beau said. I looked at him with a concerned look. Dad gave a nod thanks, "Let's go." Dad said as they walked out going to a car.

"Hey." I said to Beau. He stopped at the bottom of the steps, "Be careful." I said my hands on the sides of his neck. "Always." He said. "I love you." "I love you." He gave me a quick kiss and I kissed him back, "I'll hold the fort down Rick." Shane said. "No need Alli and Daryl got it." I looked at dad shocked as did Shane, "She's a kid." Shane said. "She's my kid." Dad said as he put his hands on my shoulders.
