"aha! you touched the knight. you have to move it now" lando said pointing at the horse piece and i sighed. "lan, you'd be in check mate in the next 2 turns if i move it. are you sure?" he rolled his eyes. "just play. i'm gonna lose either way. let me have this one moment of putting you in check, once. please" he said, grabbing the unused sugar packet from my saucer and puring it out in his mouth. i looked at him worried. "are you okay?" "i will be after that" he said woozily and i chuckled. "sure. you can eat the coke, i guess" how was he driving in formula 1?
"i want to be white this round. i'm sure this is rigged" "you can't rigg chess, lando. you just need to be smart" he gasped. "did you just call me dumb?" i just looked away, sipping on my coffee while lando looked at me in disbelief. "alright ms.4 a* in a levels. i see how it is. next time, we're picking a game of my choice" "but you picked chess, lando"
we had a couple of hours on hand until niamh got out of daycare and decided to spend it relaxing at a cafe. i was not expecting it to turn into an aggresive board game run but nevertheless, i loved ever moment of it.

"maeve, you'll never guess what i have with me" lando said when maeve answered the door. it was late at night and maeve had been working on her assignment while trying to get niamh to sleep. "what'd you do now?" she asked, lazily hugging lando who hugged her back before pulling away quickly. "more hugs later but first, step back" he walked back out into the corridor outside their apartment and rolled in the "orange" car.
