love conquers anxiety

Notes: Ben and kenji are only dating after the kiss.

BEN ! BEN? BEN PLEASE NO COME BACK BENNNN!!!! NOOO NOOO NOOOOO!!"

Everyone woke up instantly to the sounds of Kenji screaming and shouting, tears running down his face. They all tried to comfort him when he too woke up but Kenji refused to admit he was anything but fine.

"But Kenji You're clearly upset and having nightmares, we all do sometimes it's nothing to be embarrassed about" Sammy had said, attempting to console their friend. "I said it's nothing! I'm fine! I don't need your help okay!" He had yelled before going off to the edges of the jungle that surrounded them. Everyone was indeed worried because he had left on his own but decided it was best to let him cool down.

He came back thirty minutes later for breakfast and sat in silence with the others chatting around him until they heard a distant roar, Darius mentioned it was just an Ankylosaurus, "Like Bumpy" he'd said. The montion of their lost dinosaur friend seemed to be the last straw for Kenji as suddenly he started to shake, his breathing rapid and uneven. A few of them tried to stabilise him but he just got worse, they had no idea what to do.

"Kenji !? Kenji!" They shouted repeatedly but got no response. Kenji had started to mumble and then he reached out, eyes wide and jolted forwards, crying heavily, his hands scratching at his throat. "Ben no Ben please, I'm sorry I don't- I'm so sorry Ben. Bumpy no no no no" He was screaming and pleading. He'd began to shake violently when they heard another voice shout from below "Hello? Guys!?". It was Ben!

"Ben come up please help!" They yelled down to him and he immediately rushed to get up the ladder as he heard Kenji's cries. "Kenji oh no! Kenj look at me, look at me, I'm okay now remember to breath okay, breathe for me Kenj."

"Ben? Ben I- I'm so sorry I couldn't-"

"Kenji breathe"

"I couldn't save you!"

"Oh Kenj I'm sorry you had to go through this alone but I'm here okay, I'm here now."

"Please don't go"

"I'm not going anywhere"

After explaining what had happened during the time they were apart, everyone was caught up on everything except for with what happened to Kenji.
Kenji looked ashamed to even speak of it but he still did, with Ben holding his hand throughout it.

"I have anxiety and ....panic attacks sometimes... and..... flashbacks. Ben always helped me through them before...." Ben's grip on his hand tightened encouragingly. "Yeh so that's it."
Kenji turned away from the group to face Ben, "I'm sorry I wasn't there to help you either.", he said looking into his eyes with honesty and...love. "There's no need to be sorry especially when I'm right here. I missed you though." Ben replied, leaning ever so slightly closer as he stared back into Kenji's eyes. "I missed you too babe.",Kenji said, his expression panicked as he realised what he had called the younger boy but he didn't have time to correct himself before Ben had his hand on the back of his neck, pushing their lips together in a sweet, comforting kiss.

It took the two lovesick puppies...no...boys a minute to realise the absolute chaos that was erupting beside them as their camp fam was in full celebration mode.
