Flashbacks 🥲

School was different, it wasn't too bad but change can always be hard. Kenji had gone to a very expensive private school before but now everything seemed more relaxed and childlike. He wasn't sure what to do with himself truthfully, he felt out of place but Ben was around a lot so he tried his best and it turns out he actually is excellent at Geography and Languages and computing and wow he's having a great time.

He made a few new friends eventhough he wasn't quite sure how he was expected to act at first. Two people, Anna and Carlos, had somehow become his friends, they were lovely and funny and got along with Ben too.
Kenji also met a friend of Ben's who he thought was cool aswell, their name is Charli.

It was fantastic eventhough some things were tough like the therapy or counselling they had to go to every week but it helped. It could never be easy but they were tough, they had been through so so much and they made it. Some might say it left them broken and yes that is correct but they put themselves back together and kept going. So after everything they really could do almost anything.

They were all glad that nobody knew the identities of the now famous 'Nublar Six' because it would have been hell trying to go back to normal or atleast creat a new normal. Only their therapists and families and of course governmental people knew who they were which was, like I just said, useful but it did leave people with lots of questions.

You see to the kids at Ben's school, their strange classmate had gone missing for a year then come back stronger and more confident. It was also odd how he had reappeared with a boyfriend who they had never seen before.

I was also very weird and unexpected when both Ben and Kenji started crying in the middle of a lesson.

Ben was frozen as he stared in horror at the screen. Pteranodons. Kenji immediately got out of his seat and made his way over to Ben. Kenji's hand was on his shoulder, people were confused, he could hear Kenji talking but his eyes wouldn't move, they were fixed on the screen. He couldn't look away.

"Ben...Ben! Snap out of it! You're okay, you made it! We are all here and safe! Come on Ben...." Kenji was saying, desperately trying to get Ben to look at him. He moved infront of him, blocking his view of the screen and yelling at the teacher to turn the damn thing off. Ben just looked right through him as if he wasn't there.

Suddenly he was shaking, tears flowing, breath uneven. Ben's eyes were wide. People were talking, chattering and whispering. Kenji didn't want to shake his boyfriend as he knew the memory he was re-living right now and the motion could
worsen his state.

Ben screamed. It was loud and long. People startled at the sudden sound. Kenji was much more understanding, he walked calmly up to where Ben had backed himself into the wall at the back of the room. Ben had his head buried in his knees, holding his legs tight up against his chest.

"Hey jungle boy" kenji said like it was a greeting. Ben slowly stopped shaking and Kenji wrapped his arms around him in relief.

Ben looked up at Kenji, fear evident on his face. "No.. no no no they-they got me. I fell. No no y-you can't-". He started panicking, shaking his head side to side.

Kenji was crying now too but he tried to stay calm for Ben. "Hey! No you made it remember. You found us and- and Bumpy and you defeated Toro! We made it home Ben.". None of what Kenji was saying got through to the boy though.

"Okay well... look at me Ben." He held his head to make sure he couldn't look away again. "See I'm here. Remember you made it and then the- the truth serum! And May, you have to remember May and my....my father......come on Ben please snap out of it.". Ben smiled, it was small but Kenji saw it.
"I'm sorry Kenj"
"I'm just glad you're back"
"Thank you, City boy."
"Oh it was nothing."

And then came the rather annoying shouting and questions, "What the fuck?!"
"Duuudeee!!!" "Guys what?!" "Are you OKAY!??" "What just happened?" .

The teacher told them to head to the headteacher's office to be sent home, and they did exactly that. Cue another afternoon spent relaxing with Mike and Juliet but they didn't mind, infact Kenji felt great comfort when he was with them. They were becoming a family.
