The morning was cold and icy but the weather was supposed to get warmer at noon. Kenji got up first to make breakfast and then Ben followed him down. Maybe the others would catch on if they realised they were always together or maybe they'd never realise.
"Good morning kenji! And Ben!" Sammy said cheerfully when she got to the bottom of the stairs. It was a very relaxed morning, everyone ate their pancakes and fruit peacefully.

As they cleared the table Brooklynn suggested a game of cards and so the girls set that up while Darius helped Ben and Kenji clear everything away. "Coffee? Tea?" Darius asked the girls for Kenji and Ben. "Yes please! You know I love my Coffee." Brooklynn chuckled and smiled brightly.
"Oh I'll have a tea thanks." Yasmina said. And Sammy just asked for a glass of water instead. Darius took the information back to the other guys and they made everyone their drinks then carried them all carefully over to the other table where the cards were set up.

They all sat down at the lovely wooden table and played a great game of pontoon. At the end of the game, after Yas had gracefully won with multiple shouts of "You losers!" And "Yessss!", they packed the cards away. Darius told everyone he was going to the bathroom and headed where Kenji had showed them yesterday.
Once Darius was gone Brooklynn struck up a conversation about conspiracies and Ben eagerly joined as the others looked on sceptically. "Wait you saw that on my page!" "Really? That's you?!" "Yeah!" "Oh my Gosh I have to show you my page! Here this is me." "Okay let me find you."

Sammy turned to Yas, "Hey do you thi-" She began to ask her something but Yas cut her off "Do you hear that?". They both, along with Kenji, stopped to listen. "Oh yeah it's someone's phone." Sammy answered.
"Probably Darius's, it's got dinosaurs all over it." Kenji said. Darius walked back into the room, "Hey ha- oh there it is..... ah crap... be right back my mum's calling me.".
The group watched as Darius hurried out of the room to answer the call.

The group's conversations continued as Darius stood talking to his mother in the hallway outside. Most of them tried not to listen in but they could all clearly tell that Darius and his mum were not having the calmest of talks. Darius wasn't blatantly arguing with her but there was definitely a disagreement occurring between them.

"So, anyone want to do anything in particular?" Kenji asked the group in an attempt to steer their attention away from Darius and assure none of them were bored, it is supposed to be a holiday after all. "Uhm...we could- anyone fancy rock-climbing?" Ben asked in response to Kenji's question. The girls were luckily up for it. "Right well then let's get going." Kenji said, standing up eagerly.
Ben, Yas, Sammy and Brooklynn went outside and waited by the van. Kenji stayed behind to quickly tell Darius where they would be going, "Oh okay, yeah I'll be there in a minute." He replied. Kenji left Darius his house keys then grabbed his keys to his trailer and met everyone outside.

"Is Darius coming?" Brooklynn asked when Kenji was only a few feet away.
"Yeah he's coming, just gotta give him a minute."

Ben unlocked his precious van, Kenji gave it to him as an anniversary/birthday gift a few years back, and let everyone in to sit down waiting for Darius.

Darius was fine. He really was.....he's just tired that's all. He's grieving but he's fine. After Savannah died he hasn't really been himself. He shut everyone out and pretended like he was okay, he was just busy when he wasn't. He still isn't.

"Okay...bye mum. Yes. Love you too." Darius ended the call and took a deep breath before going to meet the others outside. He locked up behind him and made his way to Ben's Van. Kenji was stood outside the Van looking at Darius knowingly, they were like brothers, Darius would have to be stupid to think Kenji wouldn't be worried about him.
Not that he really needed to worry anyway.
Everything was good.
