Notes:  set right after meeting Mr and Mrs Pincus.

"Mr and Mrs pincus are you sure, I don't want to be a burden." Kenji had said but they only replied, "Of course we are, you won't be a burden at all Kenji and please it's Mike and Juliet.".

After a few days of complicated law things and paperwork, Kenji was settling in to Ben's house with his parents and everything was finally starting to go right.
Kenji had his own room, which used to be the spare room, but Mr and Mrs Pincus were fine with Ben and him sharing a bed.

It was 21:46 pm and they were in Kenji's room, the laptop out and the faces of their friends on the screen. Of course the family of random traumatised children kept in touch and video called almost every other day. Yas and Sammy were staying together and were the first to say goodnight and leave. Ben and Kenji were second to leave the call so they can't be sure but Darius and Brooklynn most likely kept the call going all night so they could sleep. They all know how hard it is to sleep without hearing the others heartbeats and snoring and the faint sounds of rain or trees in the wind.

Ben and Kenji settled into bed, pulling the covers over themselves and cuddling up to eachother. It was peaceful, Ben had sounds of nature playing on his phone, they were finally safe and warm.

It was a few hours later that Kenji got up, it was one in the morning and he he could hear sobbing. He looked around the room and saw Ben hunched over at the other side of the bed.

"Babe? Hey what's wrong?" He asked, going to sit beside him on the floor.

Ben sniffed, "Bump-py." He said, voice shaky and tears streaming down his face. Kenji wrapped him in a tight, comforting hug then kissed his forehead and wrapped a blanket around them both.

It was a sad night but its okay to miss things and people and even dinosaurs because you know you had a special bond and no one can break it. When you miss someone you know you love them because you had them and you let them go so they could be free.

Mrs Pincus ,or Juliet as I should say now, had gone to their rooms to wake them as it was already midday but she left them once she had found them leant against eachother at the side of Kenji's bed with a blanket thrown over them and tear tracks down their faces.

She brought them glasses of water and didn't ask any questions except for if they were alright or needed anything. Luckily the teenagers had come back home in the school holidays so they watched TV and played boardgames with Ben's mum all day.

Kenji still couldn't understand how these people were so kind, accepting and non-judgemental. They reminded him of his mother.
