✨Truth serum ✨ (pt1)

The team had split up so that Sammy, Kenji and Brooklynn went to search for anything that could help Sammys family or atleast tell her what had happened to them whilst Darius, Yaz and Ben go and most likely find themselves in danger because of dinosaurs.

Sammy was seriously concerned about her family so it hurt that Brooklynn wasn't taking any of it seriously and actually treating it like some sort of fun mysterious adventure. Kenji simply walked beside them and occasionally pointed at something on the map or alerted them of a dinosaur nearby. "Brooklynn if you're not going to take this seriously then for goodness sake you might aswell leave and I'll do it on my own!" Sammy yelled, grabbing the map from Brooklynn and glaring at the girl, "My family could be in danger and you're acting as if this is all a cool game!".  Brooklynn stood still and stuttered trying to find the words to apologise but Sammy kept talking, "I honestly can't believe that you can't bloody behave like you aren't infront of a screen for two flippin seconds!".

"Hey! Hey guys let's just try and sort this out okay. We aren't going to get anywhere with you two fighting the whole way and it's too dangerous for us to split up." Kenji said, not sure if they would listen or if Sammy would yell at him too.
"Sure, atleast you're being reasonable Kenji." Sammy replied with an irritated tone, glaring expectantly at Brooklynn.
"Look Sammy I'm sorry, I mean so sorry, I just got carried away and you're right I'll stop and actually help, I promise  I was just trying to help though." Brooklynn said, nervously holding her hands together and her head tilted towards the ground but her eyes still looking up towards Sammy.

"Okay thanks, I'm sorry for yelling in ya faces, I'm just worried is all, ma  family means a lot to me and I-" Sammy was  explaining when Kenji cut her off to say "We're here..... it's the lab?"as they arrived at the abandoned building.
"Okay let's just be prepared for any living creatures inside." Brooklynn mentioned as they jogged towards the doors.
"I don't hear anything but still better be careful as always.", Sammy said, her voice a little higher than a whisper, slowly opening the door to the building. "All clear." She said and they began to walk through the gloomy corridors, listening for any sounds of dinosaurs and looking for anything that linked to Sammys family.

The trio found themselves wandering into a bright white room with test tubes and computers on every surface. The the lights flickered every now and then but there was no sign of any other life yet. They searched the whole room for anything that could be of importance  they were about to give up when a low grumbling sound followed by a high pitched shriek came from the corridors on the left. Rushing away from the obviously dangerous creatures that luckily had not noticed their presence yet ,or they atleast hoped they hadn't, Kenji stumbled into a lab table and a needle stuck straight into his side. There was no time to stand around with the dinosaurs getting closer, they needed to get back outside before he could tale the needle out and see what he'd been injected with.

Luckily it wasn't very long until they were back outside the building again and Sammy sighed, "I can't believe there was nothing there, I just want to know what happened to my family". Brooklynn smiled lightly, "Actually I kinda picked this up and I think it might be useful eventhough it's not really guaranteed that anything about your family is on their but here." She said, handing Sammy a laptop, "I think it belongs to someone important like Masrati.".

"Um I don't mean to spoil the moment but I ran into something back there and well I'm not sure what's in me right now." Kenji announced, clutching the needle that stuck out of his stomach. "Oh Shit! Kenji what, crap we gotta get that out of you!" Brooklynn exclaimed. All three of them were panicking but they tried to stay calm enough so that Kenji might be alright so the needle was carefully removed from and properly inspected well all it took was a glance really to figure out what had been inside it."Truth serum 809."was the label.

"Uhhh kenji I think you've been injected with some sort of truth serum." Sammy said. "How full is the syringe? We might be able to figure out how much of it's in his system." Brooklynn asked. Sammy looked down at the syringe and cringed, she shook her head and held up the empty syringe.
"Okay lets just get back to the others and we'll figure something out." Brooklynn said as they all started to walk quickly back to camp.

The others looked at them with concern as they realised they had no way of getting the serum out of Kenji and they didn't know exactly what it would do. They just had to wait and hope nothing bad happened.

"Well I guess all we can do is check if it actually was truth serum or not. Up for some questions Kenji?" Darius said. Yaz smirked in the background, "I mean really? Truth serum, you gotta admit it's kinda funny." She said and Brooklynn answered, " Yeh it kinda does" smirking aswell. "Okay we all agree this is hilarious but how do we know whether it's truth serum or not?" Ben questioned from where he had suddenly appeared next to Darius.

"Well ask questions of course, its quite obvious Ben." Sammy answered, frowning in confusion at Ben asking a stupid question. Ben sighed, "yes I know that but we have to make sure that Kenji can't control his answer so wouldn't it have to be something he didn't want us knowing?"He explained, obviously annoyed that no one else had come to that conclusion.

"Oh right.... well how about we eat first and worry about this later so we can agree on some questions, together." Darius said as most of the team was already scurrying away to the food.
