Kelby Neiah was in town doing some shopping for items that Ethan needed for his care when she phone rang "Is this Kelby Neiah?"

"Yes what happened?" Kelby answered anxiously thinking that Ethan had fallen.

"Your dad is in the hospital due to an accident and is in surgery now and is in need of a blood transfusion, do you consent for this?" the Nurse had asked.

"Yes" Kelby sounding shocked by the news about her dad. A second nurse asked her the same question again while her answer remained the same.

Kelby immediately called Julia "my dad is in the hospital having surgery and I have the items for Ethan here with me, what should I do?"

Julia "wait there I'll be there in five minutes to get the stuff and I'll have someone else watch Ethan for you. Just wait for me."

When Julia reached Kelby and had another person to take the Items that were purchased from Kelby back to Ethan, Julia place a scarred Kelby into her car to head to the hospital to see her dad. Kelby's mind just couldn't imagine her dad having an accident as he was always careful about doing things.

Upon arrival to the hospital Julia and Kelby were directed to the surgical waiting area to await for news of her dad. after two hours the surgeon came to speak with Kelby and explain what he had to do to save her dad, and voicing concerns about the kind of job he does and the safety measures he had in place. Kelby was surprised that kind of accident had happened on the work site and did not realize that her dad had lost sight of that kind of equipment and now the loss of income would not help pay any of the bills they have.

Julia seeing the worry on Kelby's face made Julia to decide to take on the Construction company that Ronnie Neiah owned and keep Kelby at the helm of running her dad's business as the person to hire and fire the employees and to provide training safety measures for them to learn and keep up to date with. After visiting with Ronnie, Julia had called Erron and told him what had happened to the owner of Neiah's construction company. Erron said "I'll get on that quick and find out what had really happened and why for him, he's been my friend since we graduated high school"

Kelby "Dad you need to get some rest and I'll be back tomorrow to visit you."

"Okay sweetie You be careful going home." he said groggily

"It was Julia Callsburg-Dakster who brought me up here to be with you, I'll definitely will see you tomorrow, get some rest." as Kellby got up to leave and find Julia.

As Julia was driving home with Kelby, She asked "What am I going to do that business was dad life. I know very little about the construction like what a hammer is, different types of saws, and a few other things like a two by four and six by eight boards, sheet rock, panels, maybe how to hang a door cause I have done that before why now?"

Julia said in a comforting voice "Erron is going to the site and check it out to see what exactly happened and how, this will give you a place to start and to help correct that problem before your dad gets out of the hospital and have the other workers to learn how to prevent the same accident from happening if possible."

Kelby sat quietly the rest of the way home and Julia dropped her off to pick up her car. Julia followed her home to make sure she was safe arriving there. When Julia arrived at the gate house to visit with Ethan and let him know about Kelby's dad, she had found that Ethan was asleep in his bed and the care giver said "Ethan did not want to eat unless Kelby had prepared the food for him."

Julia smiled sweetly "That brat he is a stubborn one that is for sure. When he wakes up tell him his mother said he had better eat or Kelby won't be back to see him"

The next morning brought about gray sky with dark thunder clouds that threaten to drop rain quickly on anyone that was out, Kelby got in her car to drive to the hospital to visit her dad. She arrived just as the first few drops of rain started to fall, walking into her dad's room she saw her dad sitting up and writing something. "Dad what are you writing there is it a book?" Kelby jokingly said to her dad just liven up his spirit.

Ronnie stated "I'm filling out my living will here now that this has happened to me and I will be making up a last will as soon as I get out of here to make sure that you are taken care of. What have you to say about that pumpkin sweetie"

"I'm shocked you think like that, I thought you already had that done when mom passed away" Kelby said anxiously worrying about her dad now.

"Well I won't be around forever now Kelb" her dad had said in a stern tone of voice.

Just as Kelby was going to say something the Dr. had walked in "Well Mr. Neiah you are lucky this time as you were brought here by one of your employees who had seen what happened and said that you were on a ladder when you fell approximately seven foot to the ground, that gave your heart a good start and the test results were in after the check over we gave you finding you needed a heart valve replaced and if it weren't for your daughter giving us permission to give you blood you would have died on the operating table. After a week recovery here you could go home but no heavy lifting and definitely no climbing up on ladders either to lift anything over head."

Kelby surprised to hear that her dad had a heart valve replaced during this surgery caused her to feel aggrieved about his care. She felt like she was spending her time more and more with Ethan than her dad. She asked "Just when can my dad be discharged from the hospital?"

"It'll be the following Tuesday, We just want to keep and eye on the lab levels and make sure his heart is doing well before we dismiss him home with those restrictions." Dr. Thurmon of the cardiology team said.

"Oh okay this gives me time to get the house in order so he doesn't have to lift anything and I can get some help there for him as well as have the guys at work do the lifting and reaching as well as the climbing to hang drywall for him at the work site. Now dad you get to be the supervisor at work not the employees." Kelby said with a smile on her face.
