IS LOVE HERE TO STAY?

Chapter 28

Jut as Kelby was hanging up she saw where she had missed a call from Garrett at the work site, and returned the call to find out that the building they were working on had imploded and no one was hurt and the project manager was yelling to speak to the boss about the shabby job being done. Kelby sent Marlon to investigate the issue as he was recommended by Treymon to help in the construction business for Kelby. The results were due to a tremor in the Earth's platelets that shifted and found no further damage. Kelby then changed the procedure to making it Earthquake using a pier and beam foundation in the building to Keep it steady with the shifting of the platelets and to add features for tornado proofing the stairwell to keep safe and sound allowing for cellphones to make and receive calls as well as providing drinking fountains at lower levels for water supply.

Ethan after seeing Kelby the night before and taking her to the movie, he was planning his nest date with her. While he was in deep thought, Jamson Traiveil approached him in the dog house and informed him that he had seen a crack on the outer platform of the rig at that instant Ethan shut down the rig operations and called everyone in and turned off all equipment as he was not going to have this happen a second time. Sending all of the rig hands off the platform to check the standing pipes that held the platform in place while they worked and drilled the well they found the critical pipe that was wrapped around the drill pipe itself and reported back and they all left the site and Ethan had just left the platform and was able to clear the site and waited for his dad to show up.

When Erron arrived at the site he saw where Ethan was at sitting in his truck "What pipe is cracked this time and it better be good. we are in a time crunch to get this well out now."

"dad it's the pipe around the drilling pipe that is critically cracked. I wished I knew who set this thing up and why are we getting this crappy casing for the drill pipe to go down into to drill with and has mom checked it out lately." Ethan said with concern in his voice.

"Are you doubting your mom and how she handles business? cause if so then it's time you took over for good so your mom and I can retire. Umm" his dad had retorted.

Ethan looking surprised and upset said "Ugh no dad, it's just this is the second time this has happened and as soon as it was reported I shut it down to keep our employees safe. So I need to know who came out and set up this rig and did not do a safety check of these points that have wear and heavy usage on them, I'll make sure they have their pay docked for that."

"Ethan you can't do that they have families as well..." Erron was saying before Ethan interrupted 

"I know they have families, they need to consider the other employees who also work on these rigs as well if something happened it can be traced back the person or persons who did not check for the wear and severe usage of the equipment causing the rig to explode or implode which would you have happen? as far as I'm concerned I would have neither of that happening here on my watch or anyone else's for that matter." Ethan was more than upset  with the person or persons who set the rig up and did not inspect any of the frames that support the platform for drilling or the encasement for the drill pipe to hold. Feeling miffed Ethan climbed up the derrik to pipe stand above the platform to inspect that as well to make sure that there was no break or severe cracks in the tower that held the pipe and machinery that held for the pipes to be loaded for drilling. going up on the south side of the infrastructure of the whole drilling stand he noticed a small crack that looked like it had rusted almost completely through and was barely hanging in and would collapse on restarting the equipment. Ethan snapped a photo of it and quickly sent a text message to his dad and mom at the group message center, even though his dad was on site at the rig.

Opening up his messages and seeing the photo just taken be Ethan while he was up there on the mast of the rig when he looked up he saw that it had started to sway at the top and yelled for Ethan to get down to avoid being toppled on by the top half of the mast as it was giving way to the weight of Ethan being up there. as Ethan was starting to climb down he grabbed the grounding wire and used his harness to slide to the ground and was out of the way when the top of the rig crashed into the water waste area and was buried almost all the way into the mud.

'Well if that didn't beat all' Erron thought as he watched his son slide away from where the top part of the rig divided and fell to the ground, seeing his son walk away from this episode of trouble with a rig that is in a full retirement was smiling that Ethan was safe, so now he had paper work to do and had to find another rig to be moved in as soon as this one was packed up and sent to the yard for a full repair and work over to be done.

After Ethan walked over to his dad he was smiling as if he was the one who had the luck to walk away from the rigs that have the most trouble, "Yeah I didn't see that coming until I was right up on it and took that pic and sent it to you and mom both so she is aware of what would happen and now is the time to picture that and make sure this doesn't happen again. Just make sure these poles and pipes are stable and solid when we use them out here so we can be safe, Oh by the way I want to be out here when this is taken down so I can mark the areas that are weak and need the overhaul and when the next one is put up so I can find any places that need repair before it is finished being put together."
