Third Person POV

Wangji smiled softly as he gently caressed Wuxian's hair, feeling a sense of peace wash over him as he watched his beloved in a deep slumber.

With a tender gaze, Wangji spoke softly, his voice filled with remorse and longing.

"I understand your feelings of resentment towards me, but I couldn't bear to leave without seeing you one last time," Wangji began, his words laced with sincerity.

"Weiying, I take full responsibility for the circumstances that have led us to this point. I would go to any lengths just to find who is responsible for your sudden change. I will be by your side to help you find your way back, A-ying... I promise you that. Just have faith in me, I promise to make things right, please wait for me,  " Wangji reassured, his commitment unwavering.

He gently tucked a strand of hair behind Wuxian's ear, silently vowing to do everything in his power to make things right between them.

With a deep breath, Wangji leaned in closer, pressing a soft kiss on Wuxian's forehead before whispering, "I will find a way to bring you back, Weiying."

Then flood of memories engulfed him, each moment of Wuxian's tears and anguish piercing his heart with guilt and remorse.

The weight of responsibility pressed heavily on Wangji's shoulders as he relived the pain he had caused his beloved.

The echo of Wuxian's words reverberated in Wangji's ears, a haunting reminder of the hurt and pain that had seeped into their relationship.

"Yet, isn't that what you are doing to me now? Hurting me..." Wuxian's words hung in the air, his eyes piercing into Wangji's soul.

"If I mean so much to you, why are you leaving me? Why are you hurting me?" Wuxian's voice quivered with raw emotion, his eyes pleading for answers.

Wuxian went silent as he stared at Wangji. Tears still stain his cheeks.

" You've known for a long time that I love you, Lan Zhan. That's why I do everything, risking my life, just for you! But why should I even bother saying that, right? And what will you return, a mere 'thank you'?"

"Or maybe you'll just say something and give me false hope again?" Wuxian added, his voice tinged with bitterness and skepticism.

"But you promised me... I trusted you!" Wuxian's voice cracked with pain and a sense of betrayal.

"You said you wouldn't leave me... You said nothing could separate us..." Wuxian shook his head in disbelief, his voice choked with heartbreak.

"You made me believe in your lies!" Wuxian's grief and anger converged into a resolute action as he slapped Wangji, the force of his hand striking repeatedly against Wangji's face.

Tears continued to cascade down Wuxian's cheeks as his legs grew weak, unable to support the weight of his emotions any longer.

In response, Wangji enveloped Wuxian in his arms, holding him tightly, expressing both his remorse and his desire to offer solace in the face of such pain.

Despite Wuxian's struggles, Wangji refused to let go, determined to provide comfort and reassurance, if only for a fleeting moment.

"Let me go," Wuxian pleaded through teary eyes, his voice trembling with sorrow.

"I have never been defeated in my entire life, Lan Zhan. Not until you came along," Wuxian cried out in a mix of anguish and sorrow, pushing Wangji away with all his might.
