It's time to go to the airport. Arielle didn't want to leave Iowa because it was bad but she wanted to leave due to the opportunity and wanting a new start. It was time to leave the Hawkeyes and time to join the UConn Huskies in Connecticut.Arielle sat on the floor fitting her last bunch of clothes in a suitcase, pushing on the clothing to get it to fit.
"ARIELLE?" her best friend Kate shouted coming from another room.
"WHAT?" Arielle shout back trying to zip up the suitcase as she pushed her full body weight on it. Kate walked into her room fully ready, "Are you finished at all? I put all your other stuff in the car."
Ari had 3 other duffle bags and this suitcase, She was kind of proud of herself for having so little things. "You can clearly see me struggling.." she looked at the blonde with a straight face sitting on top of the suitcase trying to zipper up the rest. Kate just laughed at her and helped her zipper up the rest.
Kate takes that suitcase to the car and Arielle put her charger, lipgloss, beats, and other things she often used in her carry on mini bag. She put on a sweater, slipped on new balance, and walked outside to Kate's car.
Outside was Gabbie and Caitlin (her closest teammates other than Kate) waiting for her friend next to the car.
"Guys." Arielle pouted her lip walking up to the other girls with her arms opened up for a hug, "You woke up this early for me."
The brunettes hugged Arielle tight, "Of course. I had to say goodbye to my sugar butt." Gabbie spoke into Ari's ear as she squeezed her.
"I couldn't let you leave without seeing my beautiful face." Caitlin giggled as she was being squeezed as well.
She couldn't blame the rest of them, they had a goodbye party for Arielle. All she remembered was that the party didn't end until 3 in the morning. It was now 6:30 am.
Kate joined them, making it a group hug. They stood there for a minute until Arielle broke it up.
"Time to go, can't let me be late no matter how much you want me to stay." Arielle fake laughed as she tried to hold herself together, she was going to miss those girls.
"I love you Ri, we will see you soon." Gabbie smiled tightly wiping a little tear from her eye, Caitlin's arm around her tight as she tried to comfort her.
"I love you most, Gabs." She got into the front seat and a second later Kate got in. She started the car and got on the move.
They waved as the car drove away.
-
"So, how do you feel." Kate asked. Ari sighed before responding, "I think it will be good since you know, Paige and Azzi." then looked at her.
"But, I still don't like that one girl that shall not be named." Kate nodded, "Yeah.. I know. I wouldn't either, you have all reason to feel that way." Arielle agreed.
-
Kate pulled up into the airport, Arielle started to have anxiety finally realizing she's actually leaving a place she called home for 2 years.. it's felt like 10.
"Time to go." Kate looked at her best friend with a frown. Ari poked her lower lip out wanting to cry, "I'm gonna miss you so much."
Kate pulled her into a hug, don't think she's hugged Arielle this tight since the first time Ari got here. "Okay, enough crying. I have to go."
They get out the car. She opened the trunk and Arielle got her suitcase, mini bag, and one duffle bag. Kate got the other two bags and they walked to the entrance.
