Noon, Spring 1953, Warrior den, Ancient Rabbits Tribe

Gideon and the Wise One walked to the den and started changing out their old moss bedding.

"I can't believe the rest of the rabbits refused to go patrol" The Wise One said. "This is a serious danger! What if it's another rabid animal? What if it's a savage rogue? What if it's an animal from another tribe. What if it's-"

"What if it's a loner that needs help?" Gideon asked as he disposed of his old bedding and walked in the territorial area. "What if it's a young one that got lost or abandoned?"

"It's not always sunshine and rainbows in the forest" The Wise One warned. "The forest can also be filled with danger and savagery. It's in our blood"

"If the Ancient Doves still existed, they would have proved you wrong" Gideon said. "Because of them leaving, we have no peace"

"That's not why we don't have peace" The Wise One corrected. "We don't have peace because something or someone always stirs up danger. Also, savage rulers can play a role in making the forest horrid"

"There were barely any wars when the Ancient Doves were around" Gideon said as he pulled some moss off a smooth rock.

"That was because borders were actually being checked thoroughly" The Wise One said.

"Leo protected more fiercely then" Gideon said. "Now he's just a gold lion you see at moonrise who visits your dreams"

"Leo still protects us with fierce and loyalty like he used to!" The Wise One snapped. Clearly, he was very devoted to faith, like a yandere obsessing over one person.

Gideon snorted. "How would some stars protect you now?" He asked daringly.

"That's like asking how a human can fly. They can't!" The Wise One remarked. "They don't have the wings of birds or some strange magic flying power like the wingless dragons"

Gideon smirked and rolled his eyes as he started cleaning his mossy bed. He knows that elders are always known to tell tall tales like these.

"Can I tell you something that might make you feel better?" Gideon asked.

"What? Are you gonna tell me that magical lions are gonna fall from the sky and bring permanent peace" The Wise One asked.

"No. I just wanted to say that you're the best friend an animal could ask for" Gideon said.

The Wise One's eyes widened. "Really? You actually think that?"

"I'm certain" Gideon said.

The old rabbit smiled. "Thanks Gideon. I never had this much respect in several years. It's been an honor training you"

"Can I ask you something completely random?" Gideon asked.

"Ask away. I'm no longer mad" The Wise One approved.

"Can our magic sticks break?" Gideon asked.

"They only break if you are no longer worthy of possessing magic" The Wise One said.

"Oh. I just remember that time when we went to that Mystic Cave so I can receive my magic stick and become a full magic controller" Gideon said.

"Yes. I remember it too" The Wise One said. "Soon, a rabbit that you train may be able to control magic"

"I hope a month from now I get to train a rabbit" Gideon said.

The Wise One looked down sadly but then looked back up. "Yes, I'm pretty sure you would last enough to experience training" He lied.

"What's wrong? Did your mentor not make it?" Gideon asked.

"I received a prophecy from Leo..." The Wise One said. "It said a cat of night will be able to have the power of the king of the monsters to battle a dragon of darkness"

"What does that mean? What does it have to do with me?" Gideon asked.

"I'm not sure. But Leo sent me this prophecy to send to you" The Wise One said. "You might have to find somebody to assist this cat of night"

"I see. Well, I'll let you know if I get something from Leo" Gideon said. The sun was in the middle of the sky.

"Sunset is coming. It's almost dinnertime" The Wise One said.

"I feel bad for the noon patrol" Gideon said. "They have to skip dinner to also serve the sunset patrol"

"Don't worry, they'll eat at starlight" The Wise One said. "The cafeteria won't close until midnight"

Gideon looked at the moss that shaped like a ball and smiled at the Wise One. "Wanna play catch the mossball?"

The Wise One smirked. "Bring it on"
